So it's looks like "America's Pharmacy" might take an advantage of a loophole and try to save roughly $4 billion by moving it's headquarters to Switzerland. Hmmm where's the outrage? Had CVS pull this stunt you guys would be all over CVS- anyone you flip it if WAGS decides to pull this stunt they truly would be one of the most unpatriotic events ever done by a Pharmacy company.

Don't worry. If Walgreens moved oversea, CVS would too like to Brazil. They are not going to let their competitor have an unfair advantage.

There you go not giving CVS any respect or credibility- CVS will NEVER turn it's back on America to save a few dollars. WAG's has stopped to a new low and if they turn their back on America imagine how they must treat their employees.

Breaking news! CVS has already turned its back on their employees and as a result, on Americans as well.

It's not like the US Government would spend that 4 billion wisely anyway.

Go Switzerland, they know how to treat their citizens and permanent residents.

^ true but there would be pressure to increase income taxes to make up the loss corporation taxes.

4 billion divided by 2.3 trillion in taxes collected

0.00173913043
or 0.173913043%

Less than 1/5th of a percent.

Not that much in the big picture.

What is going to stop CVS, Rite Aid and a zillion other businesses from doing the same thing?

Didn't Pfizer try to do the same thing a few months ago? To entice the deal Pfizer agreed to keep AstraZeneca workforce in England which means they would cut jobs in the U.S.

Tax inversion will only cause us to pay more taxes in the future.

Didn't we have a thread on corporate inversions a few weeks ago?

This is non-news and a great play by any corporation...the tax benefits are great.

Sounds good to me. I don't want to be anywhere near the guys in suits.

Our gov't is wasteful, inefficient and bloated. I don't blame any corporation for saving by moving overseas. They will still be paying taxes on their US operations. If free market capitalism takes off somewhere else in the world I'll gladly move there also. It's our patriotic duty to support American ideals wherever they may be.

CVS has 3 letters... USA has 3 letters...by god, CVS=USA. Cvs is America!! Obama isn't to blame for the economy and all the other world problems, it's Larry Merlo!
