I'm looking for advice on a school list. I'm planning on targeting the lower-tier MD schools and well as some DO schools. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Science GPA: 3.28 (Strong Upward Trend)
Overall GPA: 3.22

MCAT: 31

Princeton graduate - biology major
CA resident, not an URM

Currently working as an ED scribe (20 hrs/wk, ~350+ hrs) and tutoring students in math (5 hrs/wk). Also volunteering at a local hospital (50+ hrs)

Low tier MD and DO is where you should be aiming. Give us a preliminary list and we'll help you fine-tune it. Do you have any shadowing? If not, then you need to get some.

I have ~32 hrs of shadowing between radiology, anesthesiology (and consequently general surgery), rheumatology. Any recommendations on how many hours I should shoot for?

My preliminary list is:

MD:
Georgetown
George Washington
Tulane
Brown
Penn State
Eastern Virginia
Albert Einstein
Thomas Jefferson
Wake Forest
Albany
Virginia Commonwealth
NY Med
Drexel
U of Illinois, Chicago
Commonwealth
Med College of Wisconsin
Creighton
Loma Linda
St. Louis University
UC Davis
UC San Diego
Emory
Quinnipac
Cooper
Marshall
U of Arizona
U of Vermont
Loyola
Hofstra
U of Maryland
U of Kentucky
UVA
U of Toledo
U of Wisconsin

DO:
PCOM
CCOM
TCOM

Any help in adding or eliminating schools would be great!

The following schools should be removed from consideration:

Brown (stats, super low yield, not the right fit)
U of Illinois, Chicago (IS preference)
Med College of Wisconsin (I think they have high IS preference, but perhaps other posters will know more)
Loma Linda (unless you are extremely SDA, remove)
UC San Diego (you do not have the stats, but if you really want to, then keep it)
Emory (don't have the stats, but again, if you really want to, keep it)
Cooper (IS preference)
Marshall (IS preference)
U of Maryland (IS preference)
U of Kentucky (IS preference)
UVA (stats)
U of Toledo (IS preference)
U of Wisconsin (IS preference)

For MD you could add:
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Any new private MD schools that open in 20127 ( Roseman, Seton Hall, Henricopolis, etc. ).
Add a few more DO schools
