in order to give any helpsul feedback I feel like you'd need to elaborate more on your ecs, And even as a URM I think top 20 schools would be a bit of a reach for you with that MCAT.

I would ask you though why attending a top school is so important to you. You can get a great medical education and secure a competitive residency coming from almost any uS MD program.

What's your undergrad, research experience, and leadership like. Have you used your URM experiences to combat the many social injustices that URM may face. Have you risen to make impacting differences at a grand level? These are the experiences you would need to attract interest at a top 20 school.

Aside from that, with a strong GPA, you would have a good chance at solid schools

I disagree. Numbers will not be what holds him/her back from a top 20 school. The type of EC can make a huge difference.

Don't retake the MCAT. That's a solid score and it's not worth risking doing worse, in my opinion

As a URM applicant with a strong GPA I don't think your MCAT would keep you from getting into a top 20 somewhere. Hard to tell how competitive you are without more details about your ECs.

as requested, I updated my stats with more info. please let me know what you think. this is really bothering me :(

well based on the aamc definition, I am URM as I am black or african american.
Your UIM status and stats will get you a second look. If you have the personal qualities that a school is looking for you have a good chance.

thank you. would you recommend I retake. I feel strongly that I can pull up my scoresat least 2 more points. My first aamc (3) was a 32 when I finished content review last august. I feel like I slacked off a lot during the semester and may have caused my scores to be lower. Would you recommend retaking? I was thinking of studying taking a few more aamcs and then retaking it. Do you think 2 more points will make a significant difference in my application?

You should absolutely not re-take a 32.

Then would you say my current list is fine and would you recommend any other schools? I would really like more input from others too.

Chances outstanding. Sky's the limit.

Update: As requested, Am going to add more details on my stats

Me: URM

Why I want to go to a top 20: I like medicine as a subject alot, but my many experiences have made me aware of not only problems in healthcare in this country but also in many poor countries. I have no doubt that at some point in my life I will partake in a leadership role partaking in healthcare policy. I feel my mcat is low and am seriously considering retaking i (I feel like if I put in the time, I could pull it up 2 more points at least). Do you guys think I have a chance at a top 20 with my current stats?
