Hello all, this is addressed more so to junior EM attendings and EM trainees.
I'm an academic pathologist, and recently one of our junior faculty (5 years in practice, age likely pushing 40) announced that they are quitting pathology to begin a residency in EM.
Although I have heard of pathologists successfully transitioning into clinical specialties, neither have I before personally known these individuals, nor do I know of any of them having shifted to EM.
Any thoughts from folks who have seen this transition are sought.
Thanks!
