Alright, you and your significant other will get stranded on island for some length of time. What three drugs would you bring (be specific - indicate the drug name not the class).

You will have a large supply of it.

My picks:
(1) EpiPens
(2) Morphine
(3) Doripenem

We've played this game before. Why would you want Dori...it's an injection.

I'll take Aspirin, Avelox, and some sunblock thank you.
 
How the hell are you fools planning to inject Dori and Tygacil????

You need saline and IV bag. That's another drug.

First, why would I get Ps.A?
2, what % of Avelox is renally excreted?
3, what % of Trovan was renally excreted?
4, do you remember when Trovan was used for everything including UTI?
5, what concentration of Avelox is attiend in Urinary tract?

I'll give you 30 minutes.

Hint for Glycerin: We all talked about this (Moxiflox and UTI...specifically E. coli) not that long ago. ;)

I remember the two studies, so I won't spoil the fun. :)

and I think a year or two before that we hashed it out too.

There's no indication for UTI but it can get the job done.

A large syringe with needle (plus rubber band) will do me, slow push 60 cc to simulate a poor man's pump. hey, I'm on an island, I got all the time in the world. :D

1) With all the hospitals you visit before your island vacation, you could contract a nasty little Ps.A. somethin' somethin'. :smuggrin:

2) 20% unchanged in the urine

3) 6% unchanged

4) No

5) It doesn't concentrate in the urine, I was taught. According to the 2004 Stein article, "Moxifloxacin provided prolonged UBA against the study isolates with the exception of the P. aeruginosa strains (Fig. 1). Although moxifloxacin provides moderately high urine concentrations over time, it was the least active of the drugs studied against P. aeruginosa."

Well, Trovan was a good lesson. And since if I was to get a UTI, it'll most likely be non Ps.A and Avelox multidose will attain high enough concentration to eradicate UTI. I'll plant some cranberry.

Sorry, I was lost in your AG lashing or I'd've replied to this sooner.

Ask njac, my Word froze (which I was typing my reply in, because I've lost too many replies over the years replying directly into SDN's reply box) or I would have replied in 20 minutes! I was reading the Stein article, fool.

Next time, if you want the answer sooner, don't say 30 minutes. :smuggrin:
 
Bactrim
Neosporin w/pain reliever
Nitroglycerin

Rationale:
Bactrim: I'll probably get an ear infection from swimming, a UTI from not being able to drink enough water, traveler's diarrhea, and bronchitis (like I do every year).
Neosporin w/pain reliever: I'll probably get lots of cuts and scrapes on an island. All of that hard work...
Nitroglycerin: I'll need this in case I have a heart attack after being chased by a wild boar. It might be useful if I need to start a fire, too. :p


You can make alcohol from just about anything, so I'll pass on the narcs. and use some homemade moonshine for pain instead. You can make vinegar, too, which would be useful.

Forget about morphine. You need something for anti-inflammatory. This is my list:

(1) Ibuprofen
(2) tigecycline
(3) sunscreen

I don't need water to swallow pills. worst case, you can chew tablets. Also, I can crack a coconut or distill fresh water from seawater. Still, how are you going to administer tygacil?

1. Xanax 2 mg DAW 2 ( so dat I can shut up while my hubby is working on getting us out the mess he put us in; cz somehow it's his fault dat we ended up in this situation)
2.PCN VK 500 ( it's the most basic AB I can think off, neither of us is allergic to it)
3. Just plain isopropyl alcohol to clean up potential scratches from the bushes
4. if #3 does not count as a drug, we'll bring some marijuana (only if legalized by then)
