What happens if you don't officially withdraw?

Say, for instance, you didn't schedule and interview or you canceled some and the school wants some sort of notification in writing that you are withdrawing your app. What happens if you never do that? Nothing?

Actually, I don't think anything happens. I had the same issue w/ a school wanting me to send them some official letter or something.... yeah, that's not gonna happen. Sorry. I figure since I sent them an email stating I was withdrawing and never scheduled an interview that ought to be enough to keep me from getting kicked in the balls.
