When to take NBDE Part I

Hey

I'm starting US dental school in august 2016 and was wondering when to take NBDE Part I. Could it be taken after 1st yr of dental school and score in the high range. Or is it mandatory to take it only after the completion of 2nd yr?

Depends on your school and when students at your school are typically advised to take it according to the structure of your curriculum (if you will take all the courses that are tested on NBDE 1 by the end of the 1st year).

Over 90% of the students in my class took it after the 1st year during the summer and everyone (except for a handful) passes.
