Hi guys,

I am an IMG and have recently completed Step 1 - got 217, which I know isn't a very good score, I must admit I found the test quite different to what I expected. In any event, all I want out of life is to be a good psychiatrist! I have published a paper or two, but don't see myself ever being a full time researcher.

Any advice would be good regarding which programs I could hope to get a spot at when I apply next year would be good. By then I should have done both parts of Step 2. I expect to honor my course on average, as well as my main psych rotation. I have no specific preference for any area within the US, except proximity to a place where my partner will be able to do a PhD in neuroscience!

Thanks in advance!

For the record, your Step 1 score is the national average for folks who matriculated successfully into a U.S. allopathic psych program. Apply broadly and I'm sure you'll find a home...
