Which patients should be on LMWH/Compression stocking in CCS

I realize I have posted 3 questions in like 10 mins
My exam is near so you all can understand the anxiety.

Here are my questions regarding DVT proph for CCS:

1. I see in many CCS cases, some that dont even require DVT prophylaxis, UW cases mentions Compression stockings. So, I guess in all inpatients and old patients, ill just type Compression stockings. No harm done, right?

2. Also, apart from Hip fracture/obvious DVT/PE, when should I put LMWH? Any specific situations?

3. And lastly, should I put LMWH postop? Isnt surgery a CI to anticoagulation?

I would be really thankful if anyone can clear these doubts.
