I remember reading some guideline where it said that most patients with prostate cancer you just wait and see rather than initiate treatment. Given this, wouldn't the volume of patients decline over time? And why the heck is prostate lucrative? Does it have more procedures than the other body parts or something? Is there any other lucrative body parts?

Reimbursement is by fraction. Prostate treated with 43 fractions which is the highest among all cancers. Also it is standard to treat prostate cancer with IMRT which is far more lucrative than 3D conformal.

Improved PSA screenings = more prostate cancer diagnoses
