i was just curious, as i'd noticed with other military positions, do you get extra pay for working abroad and/or knowing additional languages?

If you take and pass the military foriegn language examination which consists of listening and reading comprehension, you can qualify for language pay. Actually the pay went up not to long ago. Also it depends on what language it is as well...

There are 3 scales, 3 being the highest, 2+, then 2 being the lowest.

thanks guys. that helps a lot. personally, im getting very excited about this because i'm an avid travelerer and trilingual and i figure theres plenty of people in this situation who would rather stay and work in the states, so im more than happy to take the international assigments off their backs ;)
