Does anyone else think that Foster the People's song "Pumped up Kicks" is secretly about pre-med gunning?

Lyrics:
Robert's got a quick hand
He'll look around the room
He won't tell you his plan

He's got a rolled cigarette
Hanging out his mouth
He's a cowboy kid

Yeah he found a six-shooter gun
In his dad's closet, in the box of fun things
I don't even know what
But he's coming for you, yeah he's coming for you

[Chorus x2:]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run, outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run, faster than my bullet

Daddy works a long day
He be coming home late, and he's coming home late
And he's bringing me a surprise
'Cause dinner's in the kitchen and it's packed in ice

I've waited for a long time
Yeah the sleight of my hand is now a quick-pull trigger

I reason with my cigarette
Then say, "Your hair's on fire, you must've lost your wits, yeah?"

[Chorus x2:]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run, outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run, faster than my bullet

Run, run, run, run, ru-ru-ru-run, run, run
Ru-ru-ru-run, run, run, run
Ru-ru-ru-run, run, run, run, run, run

[Whistling]

[Chorus x4:]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run, outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run, faster than my bullet

Or I guess it could be about mass murder.

This is what I do when there's nothing to do in my research lab :D

Exactly how bored are you
Well currently the resident I'm working with is at clinic so nothing gets done until I show my data to her.

In the meantime I've watched 3 episodes of Homeland and kept a tab of SDN open at all times. You know, the #premed life.

Edit: there's also no cell service in the research building so I'm pretty much limited to my laptop only

I can kind of see it. Also, you are very bored, but at least homeland is a solid show :)

Personally, I think Def Leppard's track "Billy's Got a Gun" is more of a pre-med gunner song haha:

DEF LEPPARD
"Billy's Got A Gun"

Billy's got a gun, he's on the run
Confusion in his mind, the blind leads the blind
Oh, Billy's got a gun, he's gonna shoot ya down
He's got evil in his eyes, got a reason to despise

There's danger in the air

Can you feel it in the air?
Danger (Such a strange emotion)
Can you feel it in the air?

Oh he was locked inside a room without a door
His innocence he suffered for
In a world of black and white, they were wrong and he was right

Just looking for a clue, it's a nightmare come true
He's going underground to track that danger down
Oh Billy, why you got that gun?

Never give him an even break
Gettin' caught is the chance you take
It could be your last mistake
(You could be so helpless)
As a bird with a broken wing
Like a sheep in a lion's den
Gonna fall but you won't know when

You hear footsteps in the night, see shadows on the wall
And the ghastly sound of silence, as the mist begins to fall
Then a scream rang out like thunder, but the lightning was too late

As the rain came down on the crimson ground
It was the hand of fate
And a crowd of people gathered round, but Billy couldn't wait

Edit, Edit: Oh wait, you really had no idea...

Why don't you go to clinic and talk to her?

I did not, even with the end of my post. I assumed it was about generic violence/struggle.

I probably should, shouldn't I...

I had a friend like the OP.

He had all sorts of revelations when he was stoned out of his mind.

My 'friend' said the same thing.
No I actually am pretty against recreational drug use. I'm not stoned, and will never be. When I was in college we had really strict sports (D1) testing regulations so I decided it'd be best to just stay away from all that stuff to be safe.

Relax, young gun.

So nobody's testing you anymore, huh? Convenient...
