Just to let you all know, of the 10 schools I have applied to, I've already been on 5 interviews with 4 more coming up within the next 5 weeks. I only applied to top 15 schools (9 of them in the top 10).

It looks like I'll be getting a bunch of acceptances mid-October. I think I put on a pretty good act during interviews. One lady who interviewed me remarked, "I wish we had more applicants who are as magnificent as you are." Another stated, "We need more students who are as stellar and well rounded as yourself. I hope that you are impressed by what we have to offer you." Basically, my interviewers were telling me what they can offer for me, not asking me what makes me want to attend their school.

And for all of you who said that my true nature will show through when I interview, you couldn't have been more wrong. When schools see my stellar numbers and ECs, they just can't resist to do anything but accept me.

they just can't resist to not accept me

If they can't resist to not accept you, then doesn't it follow that you're going to be rejected? Or maybe its just your superhuman intellect and EC's that have gifted you with such grammatical superiority that I can't understand you?

I've earned the right to be an "dingus."

With my stellar numbers and ECs, "I art holier than thou."

I have no time to "go out." As soon as my interviews end I study quantum mechanics, and it shows. "A" on the first two quizzes.

I KNOW I shouldn't get in the middle of a troll post, but this message cracks me up. It's like pre-med porn! (And then the adcom got down on her knees and begged me to go here...)

4.0, 43-45T (I took the MCAT as a sophomore when the scoring was different for verbal), and numerous ECs.

I grew up in a crackhouse. I had a deadbeat dad who I haven't seen in 10 years and my mother was a streetwalker who I haven't spoken to in over 5 years. I usually slept on the floor, along with dozens of hopeless crackheads. On the days when I had more than a slice of bread and some water, I had to carry people's groceries up a 5 story tenament for tips. When I turned 12, I got a job in a convenience store. When I turned 15, I moved out of the house and got my own apartment, all the while working 40+ hours a week.

I always attended elementary and middle school, working as hard as I can. I made honor roll every year for as long as I can remember, with no one who I could tell it to who gave a crap. I did the same through high school, achieving a 4.0 GPA as well as 1600 SAT scores. Through electives, I learned how to play several musical instruments and learned several foreign languages. I studied my ass off for the SAT, being unable to afford a prep class, and scored a 1600, as well as perfect scores on several SAT II's.

I ended up getting a full scholarship to an Ivy Leage university. I never slacked off after this, even though I was (am) living under the best conditions I ever have. I continued to work ~30 hours a week, as well as extensive volunteering, a summer of research, and a summer in rural Uganda doing volunteer work. I took the MCAT last August, after completing my final prerequitisites. I scored a 15, 15, 13-15T. As of now, my college GPA is 4.00. I am 21, have just finished my junior year, and am currently pursuing a double major in Physics and Biochemistry with a minor in Anthropology.

I will become a Neurosurgeon. I wanted to be a physician for as long as I can remember, and have pulled myself out of a $hitmound to achieve it. It has been my goal so that I can one day make a positive difference in other peoples' lives. I have always strived for excellence. Even at times when I thought it was all over, I kept pushing. I put every bit of energy in my body into my goal.

I believe that anyone who wants to become a physician should put in a high level of effort, and that they should be of a high intellectual level. There are no "post bacc's" or "Master's" in the trauma room, or in the operating room. There is no second chance. I believe that the reason for so many medical mistakes is the poor screening that many medical schools practice when choosing their student body. When you are a doctor, there is no room for error. I will take my job with the utmost of effort and seriousness, and put in the same amount of dedication and skill that I have in my academic career up until now. If I ever had a doubt about this, or if I ever do have a doubt about this, I would have been/will be the first to choose another profession.

This is just the way I think about this whole process.

From my interviewers so far, all I can say is "ew." But if they want to offer me their hottest ms1, that's another story.

so are u saying that if med schools knew your true nature, that they wouldn't accept u?
and that the reason they said all those things about u, is because your "TRUE NATURE" didn't show through?

i have no problems with people with stellar numbers
its when they let it get to their heads and become arrogant, i have a problem with

the pompous doctors that think they are the **** are the ones that decide to stitch their initials across their patient's abdomen after surgery, and get their asses sued, then lose their license

i hope that doesn't happen to you

and the smartest doctors make mistakes too
as it is part of being a human being

several instruments? several languages? damn, if you're telling the truth...

a summer in rural Uganda doing volunteer work

"rural" uganda? as opposed to "metropolitan" uganda?

4.0? 1600 SAT? 43-45 MCAT? Physics/Biochem dual major?

why didn't you go to med school sooner? if 12-year-old asian kids can hack it, surely a self-made-man like yourself could already be serving the public as a pysician. it seems like someone with your qualifications is taking the admissions pathway of a mere plebian pre-med! why!?

so are u saying that if med schools knew your true nature, that they wouldn't accept u?

Probably not. I am extremely competitive and quite arrogant, to be honest. When I deal with patients in a professional setting, though, I am a different person.

i have no problems with people with stellar numbers

Happy to hear that. Want a cookie?

its when they let it get to their heads and become arrogant, i have a problem with

Oh well:(

the pompous doctors that think they are the **** are the ones that decide to stitch their initials across their patient's abdomen after surgery, and get their asses sued, then lose their license

There is a sharp difference between arrogance and psychosis.

i hope that doesn't happen to you

Don't worry, it won't.:) By the way, I'm tickled by your concern for me.

and the smartest doctors make mistakes too it is part of being a human being

Not me. The only time I got an "A-" was during freshman year for a subjective essay that my professor disagreed with.

i know this is off topic
but do you know where your parents are?
do u keep in touch with other family members?

also,
what do your friends think about your arrogance?

Simple. Six year BA/MD programs are traditionally affiliated with tier 3 medical schools. I prefer to take the traditional route; all the while getting an Ivy education and attending a top medical school.

It would have been impossible for me to start college early. I had neither the support nor financial resources.

No, I'm not sure where my parents are; nor do I care. I have my valid reasons.

I don't have any friends; rather I have colleagues. Little do you know (as you probably attend a third rate school), in order to stay above the curve, you can't share information with others. Until I graduate, everyone is the enemy. It was the same way in high school.

I disagree. Paging through the MSAR in front of me, it lists (among MANY) UCLA, Case Western, UConn, Brown, and Northwestern. I'd be happy to go to any one of these schools.

Well, perhaps you would be happy in one of those schools. Individuals of my intellectual caliber, though, normally attend superior schools that are closer in proximity to the top 10.

just curious, do you say "top ten" as in USNews top 10? something else?

also, it strikes me as odd that someone with an ubringing as humble as yours could still be so boastful. it sounds like you couldn't spell "humble" while reading my post and holding a dictionary, which is opened to the page containing the word "humble," with the word "humble" highlighted. what gives?

I've been so good for so long. I'm just not sure if I should jump in on this one. And you guys thought that I was an arrogant jerk.
Should I? This could be fun for me.

Yes, I am referring to US News top 10.

No, I am not a humble person. I have no reason to be humble. I earned what I have and I don't have to hide it from anyone. Most people I "know" are intimidated by me, and that's the way that I like to keep it (at least until I finish my residency and secure a top position as an academic neurosurgeon).

Squat n Squeeze is a whole lot funnier here in pre-allo, messing with the minds of neurotic young pre-meds, than he is in the Lounge, posting pictures of his bowel movements. More power to him.

(P.S. If there is somebody out there [and apparently there is...] who still hasn't figured this out: SnS is a troll. Just humor him. :D )

I love all the complete n00bs who are unwittingly sacrificing themselves to be troll food. Ah, well, time to play along....

So Squat n Squeeze, do you have a preferred school selected yet?

 I can't decide what's funnier: this thread or the posters who actually believe this crap.

I don't understand, how could you have a 4.0 GPA if you got an A- before? Are u sure ur a physics major, all the physics majors I know are pretty good at math.

O yea I was wondering how many girlfriends u have had during ur time in college?

This thread is entertaining. Does anyone have the link to pictures of his bowel movements? Thank you.

"studied quantum physics right after an interview" most people would go do something fun after an interview, I personally would have paid ur mom a visit, thats always a good time.

I said I got an "A-" on *one* essay. I ended up with an "A" in the class.

If I recall correctly, you were on here crying like a little baby over your crappy grades a few months back. With scores like those, you'll never get into medical school anyway. Stop wasting your time on this message board and go take a course in vocational welding at your local community college.

All I can say is I hope you go into pathology because no one should ever let you near a live human being.

U still haven't answered my question how many girlfriends have u had while in college? Ur mom's friends don't count.

Including your mom, 11. But wait, she doesn't count. I found out she was a shemale halfway through.

I went through an international volunteering organization. I had to pay a moderate fee to cover expenses, but it was worth it for its paper value.

yes
i am for real
since i know people who PAID to go volunteering in developing nations
not only did they have to pay for the plane tix
but there was an extra fee on top of that

so no i am not crazy

Its hard to believe u really are a premed student, anyone knowing any bio would know its impossible for males to have children. That most have been ur mom with that strap on shes so found of. She told me thats how u got ur name, it always made u squat and squeeze after she used it on u.

NO, I mean "are for you real" as in "do you actually believe that anything Squat n Squeeze says is the truth?" Because you act like you do.

yea i do
i dont think that it is impossible for someone to have his stats
chances are 1 in like a million
but hey
that doesn't mean that no one ever wins the lottery

unless i see proof that he is lying
i will assume that he is telling the truth

and if he is lying - he is the pitiful one
no one else will lose anything from it
so who cares

i knew people at my school who graduated with crazy high numbers
for example, like 3.98 and 38 MCAT
this person actually had a life
so why is it impossible for a person who pretty much does nothing but study to pull off a 4.0 at an ivy (where grades are inflated and average is B) and get a 45

i guess one way to prove whether he is right or wrong
would be to see if there are any students who get perfect scores on mcat
i believe that anyone who can pull off a 45 MCAT can pull off a 4.0 GPA...

While I sort of admire your idealism, I think you're gonna have a rough, rough time in a world which will prove to be all too eager to take advantage of your naivety.
