WTF is "MDA" (p.s. I know that it means but its infuriating to see the CEO write that).... I guess Deathstar is going to run Michigan to the ground. More locums work for me :)

Ok fine, if @futureSurgeon98 is a gem, then you are a rare ruby that only Indiana Jones can acquire from the Deathstar with Luke Skywalker and Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century.

Northstar and NAPA in SE Michigan

Notice the release never mentions positive feedback from “MDAs” regarding Deathstar. No surprises here. They better get ready for their call burden/hours to go up 50% (oh we are short staffed) and benefits to tank (all of which effectively equates to a massive decrease in hourly compensation).

Do GI docs follow anesthesiologists' orders?

This is where you have to negotiate overtime pay with amc. I know a guy who milked an amc for over 700k (base was 375k plus metrics whatever where most were earning 450k). it’s hurts the amc once they are forced to pay ot money. Sure. Come back in. It’s gonna to cost the amc min $400 for that...

Valley Presbyterian Anesthesiology job (Los Angeles)

High Profile public execution(s). Sends a message to the rest of the troops. Of course the rest of the troops' dedication falls off a cliff. The goal becomes "don't hurt anybody, fly under the radar, and collect my paycheck"

...who did this when their practice was overrun by Northstar, staying on their own terms and charging significant locums rates. Eventually, deathstar (in a most punitive fashion) fired each doc, even walking at least one to his car escorted by security just to make a point (a case that is...

Northstar has been called Deathstar on this forum, AFAIK. I would be VERY careful before signing with any AMC. Work as a locum for them, first.

This times 1000. The last few years i have worked all around the country as a locum for numerous AMC’s including the reviled and dreaded “Deathstar” and can say one thing...any W-2 position with an AMC is the worst of all worlds. Benefits are measly AND your work hours are ill defined AND you...

I strongly agree with this approach, if they allow it. Ruling out ALL AMC jobs is probably a little aggressive, there are certainly some out there that are far better than others. If you can “trial” it out as a temporary locums to see if you like the work flow and set up, that could be optimal.

Awful. Just awful. Why anyone would even consider this blatant exploitation of our profession is beyond me. I honestly think that Deathstar is the worst of the AMCs. Unethical to the bone. You are way better off working locums and controlling your destiny.

This just in. A group in Louisville, KY is being taken over by Deathstar. This group covers several facilities for a "nonprofit" hospital called Norton's (who was listed as the 4th most profitable hospital system in the country). Consists of almost 20 docs and 40-50 CRNA's in their group...

In the sequels (or the original films, as I call them) the Rebel Alliance were the good guys because they were fighting against an evil Empire that was going around blowing up entire planets with their Deathstar and generally being d!cks to all and sundry.

I'm shocked to hear that the prelim med program has DO's, because it's mainly at IHC's big deathstar hospital in Murray that won't even allow DO's to rotate. IHC is 100% open to DO's at their other hospitals but not IMC.

Deathstar currently taking over a very established PP in Western KY. I know someone who went there. 5 docs (2 older and 3 more recent grads on partnership track) and someteen CRNA's. They told the 2 older docs to hit the road and are "renegotiating" the younger MD's contracts. Moral of this...

Hate to hear that. If they bought huge houses in Western Kentucky it's going to likely take them a long time to unload them. Really hate it for those guys/gals, if it's the Paducah area that's actually a really nice place to live.

I love radiology. Honestly I'd probably want to do it if they made 200k a year. Literally can't think of anything more f*cking awesome. I was in the reading room of the doc I'm doing research with and it was like being in control of the deathstar. 10/10

I routinely say to medical teams that wander into the reading room, particularly when they're lost: "You would prefer another target? Then name the system!"

Hence why I laugh at the one Rads guy who hates his job in the Rads forum, forget his name. I mean would you rather be a Hospitalist or a subspecialist that works on the inpatient side of the hospital? I'll admit my bias is towards outpatient medicine.

Quality and Adequacy of Clinical Rotations
