If you push me to bet on it.....I would lean on to say it is a fairly universal consensus but not a 100% guideline for ALL schools.

But what LizzyM said makes sense...

Edit: I would also bet on the fact, addition to LizzyM's comment, NUMBER 7 for any single section is still a critical RED LINE.

I would add in the thread title "MCAT total score v. subscore" so that the issue jumps out more to those who are worrying the most and will therefore find this thread the most useful.
