They really seem like they should be considered URMs at time since many of them come from disadvantaged families with lesser money and there aren't many of them represented in comparison with desi's and other asian groups within medical school.

Yet, so few of them are represented in the med school that I always think they should get some sort of URM status. I swear, you don't see half as many viet docs as you see of desi docs and there's a big population here who don't understand much english etc. So there's definitely a need.
Most viets that I know have nail shops and salons. Is that how it is where you live too?????
