5r: (12, 11, 13) - 36
6r: (12, 11, 12) - 35 ... was one question away from a 13 in PS and BS. I expected to do worse on VR. I absolutely could not concentrate on the passages and felt like I was guessing on a lot of the questions.

9: (13, 12, 13) - 38

I'll take 6 this week, 7 next week, and 8 the week after that I've decided.

Edited to add additional scores as I finished the practice tests.

A 30 is good. Don't look at the other scores and think yours are not good. You'll get into med school somewhere with a 29-30

8: (12, 9, 9) = 30
9: next weekend

i'm very happy to finally get a 12, but i'd like to bring the VR and BS scores back up to match.

A bee hive of activity here. We out to use all these brains to think of a way to get rid of petroleum and find alternate sources of energy. That should be no problem with all of the 35+ scores here.

4R: PS 12, V 7, BS 12
5R: PS 12, V 7, BS 12
6R: not yet taken

What should i dooooo????, if i go too fast in verbal to finish all the passages i start missing questions to give me the same score anyway. =( frustrated like whoa....

5r: 12,11,13 = 36 (3/25/06)
6r:
7:
8: 11,11,12 = 34 (4/8/06)
9: 12,9,12 = 33 (4/1/06)

Added dates for reference. I'd definitely like to see if the rest of you are seeing progression/regression according to dates of practice tests.

I thought 8's PS had a ton of gchem which I tend to do worse on, BS was similar to others, verbal was seemed easier than 9 though I ran out of time.

I'll take 6 this week, 7 next week, and 8 the week after that I've decided.

Edited to add my score for 6r.

Okay - adding the order I took these for Lanced - 3R, 9, 4R, 5R, 6R

I'm really regressing. I've decided to take 7 and 8 this week, study the topics I missed on those tests a little bit for the rest of the week, and then I'm officially taking the last week off! My brain needs a break before the test.

Taking 9 next week, and maybe 4R too.

That sounds like a good plan. If you do anything in that last week, I'd only review over old score reports lightly. But other then that, I think taking a break would be a good idea.

where are all the normal mcaters here...we seem to have only the super-mcaters posting....

Forreal.

Took AAMC 7 yesterday, just waiting for the scores.

By the way, what in the hooey was up with VR on AAMC 7? It didn't let up at all.

3R: 12,10,9 ->31
4R: 12,11,10 -> 33
5R:
6R:
7R:

The PS section from 4R definately was alot harder, and 3R is somewhat of a unrealistic assesment I think compared to the other tests... but I'm not an expert.
Hey, if anyone has got any good tips on how to up my o-chem scores, please tell me because I've always been notoriously weak in that area.

This is SDN. None of the normal non-33+ people post a lot.

Any advice??? You guys are doing soo well

My thoughts for priorities:

1) If you don't know certain things cold by now, make sure you do. I.e. formulas, units, and rules for PS, mechanisms, facts, definitions for BS. Flashcards work best for me.

2) Practice topical problems, not just practice test problems. I really liked the TPR science workbook. I hear the Kaplan 45 book is good too.

3) Practice timed verbal tests -- I really don't know what else to do for this section. Good sleep, caffeine and a little exercise before seems to help me focus better. My biggest correctable problem is that I tend to lose my concentration while reading.

My plan is to hammer problems, flash cards and timed verbal tests this week, and taper off next week finishing up on Wednesday.

Good luck!

Are all u people in school currently....or taking less courses to study for the mcat?

Cuz for canadian med schools...our scores dont count unless we take a full course load...which is why many of us up here write in august...

Just curious...and taking a break from VR practice....

Try EKs strategy if you have a little time in the next couple weeks. I was able to score a couple points higher with like 3 days of practice using EKs verbal book, because some of the things they tell you are just very simple things that you wouldn't think about otherwise. good luck

I'm taking 15 hrs (OChem II, Bio II, Genetics, Cultural Anth). I also volunteer at a clinic 15 - 20 hrs a week. I wish I could say that it was easy to find time to study but the truth is I'm going to be really glad when this is all over.

I am not enrolled in any classes this semester. I took the year off from classes when my daughter was born. I am volunteering 15-ish hours per week, though.

Honestly, though - it's sooooooo much easier to study without two kids demanding things from you constantly. 😉 I think even with a full course load, I would have had a lot more time to study for the MCAT without kids around.

I got a 9 for the AAMC #9.... thats 9 total points for all of the section. Is it bad? I am taking MCAT this April.
