sorry, folks - it's a bit of a grey area for me to excerpt so much information from the MSAR, so I'm afraid I probably ought to remove it for the time being. I hope what was posted here previously was of some help! :(

I'm curious about the folks I applied with for SLU, could you provide the same info for St. louis U?

Medical College of Georgia

Median MCAT: 31P (10 VR, 10 PS, 11 BS)
Median GPA: 3.72 overall, 3.66 BCPM

Mercer

Median MCAT: 26O (9 VR, 8 PS, 9 BS)
Median GPA: 3.60 overall, 3.49 BCPM

Can't seem to find PCOM's GA campus.
DO schools aren't in the MSAR since they aren't a member of the AAMC.

Do they show racial background for applicants/accepted in the MSAR, or no?

Oh, sorry, I actually only wanted #s for Meharry. :) I'm specifically interested in # of white applicants/accepted.

Could you tell us the average MCAT and gpa (sci and overall) for all applicants and matriculants? Thanks.

Didn't realize they were as up-to-date as the MSAR, thanks you guys.

How about miami (w/ OOS info), cornell, nyu, mount sinai, SUNYs, albert einstein, and emory (I hope that's not too much)? Thanks!

Ahhh... well, might as well do the whole spiel:

Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN

Median MCAT: 23O (8 VR, 7 PS, 8 BS)
Median GPA: 3.46 overall, 3.31 BCPM
Residents: 224 apps, 76 interviews, 18 matriculants
Nonresidents: 3357 apps, 403 interviews, 75 matriculants

Race/Ethnicity:
79 Black
8 White
6 Asian
3 Hispanic
Thanks! I wish they had the same for applicants, it probably doesn't make sense to apply if they only take like 2% of white applicants, even though I'm interested in the school. I think MDapps only showed 2 white folks who had been accepted.

lol, might as well list every school for us while you are at it ;)

What about Michigan State and Wayne State? How about Loyola?

Kids, just wanted to invite everyone to take a glance at my MDapps profile in my signature, as I have put together "magic numbers" for almost all schools that I'm applying to - this may help some as I'm applying to like 40 (mostly private though).

Miami 10-11-11-11-P, 3.76/3.72 135/1339 res, 41/2513 nonres, 0/60 foreign

Cornell 11-12-12-Q, 3.81/3.81 36/1052, 64/3905, 1/278

Isn't Mount Sinai run by NYU?

Mount Sinai MCAT same as Cornell, 3.75/3.68 50/1433, 64/4504, 10/319

Einstein 10-11-11-Q, 3.77/3.77, 93/1402, 85/4633, 5/410

Emory 11-12-12-Q, 3.78/3.74, 37/554, 73/4756, 4/263

BTW I would consider this to be a bizarre set of application choices w/o knowing anything else about you.

jochi-what is the magic number about?

Hi,

Do you have the stats for out-of-staters for UT-Southwestern (accepted or matriculated)? I don't know whether MSAR lists in-state vs. out-of-state breakdowns.

Thanks!

lol, might as well list every school for us while you are at it ;)

Yeah I'm willing to help people, but applicants who don't have access to an MSAR should at least have a ballpark idea of what each school expects. There are only about 3 tiers of med schools when it comes to the numbers, and I'm often surprised when students don't seem to get how this whole admissions game works.

sunny, regarding UTSW--are you a URM oos applicant? If not, best of luck...

11-11-12-Q, 3.83/3.8 196/2646 res, 26/649 nonres, 6/75 international

Texas is actually fessing up and stating that they bump your app if you are a URM these days.

Einstein 10-11-11-Q, 3.77/3.77, 93/1402, 85/4633, 5/410

Emory 11-12-12-Q, 3.78/3.74, 37/554, 73/4756, 4/263
WTF? I got data from 2005 here and the numbers (esp for GPA) are MUCH lower - like high 3.5-low 3.6 GPA. I can't believe they went up this much!

Oh, but my stats are "entering class," I think MSAR is "accepted," that might explain some of the difference.

CM - thanks for the backup ^_^

Adding TX schools because it's my app state; US News numbers included if I penciled them into my MSAR.

(added)

could you list cincinnati, osu, toledo, wright state, and cwru, please?

AAMC publishes the MSAR.

Einstein and Emory down to 3.5-3.6 for matriculants? That's a tough one to swallow because I don't see their waitlists moving that much.
This is US news, "entering class fall 2005"

Einstein: 3.65, 10.5 average MCAT

Emory: 3.64, 11.1

So I guess factor in the age of these stats (2 years) and the fact that MSAR is accepted and US News is matriculated, and it explains the difference.

I must've been thinking about Albany when I said Einstein was closer to 3.5.

Nah, not that far broken down, but UTSW Med numbers are above.

Thanks, Critical Mass and exi!

(CM: no, not URM. I figured the chances are near impossible. But a girl can dream, right....:( )

The MSAR provides median numbers for acceptances only, not averages for matriculants (which the US News ranking provides), but:

New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY

Median GPA: 3.61 overall, 3.55 BCPM
Residents: 1678 apps, 378 interviews, 58 matriculants
Nonresidents: 7391 apps, 724 interviews, 136 matriculants

Albany Medical College, Albany, NY

Median MCAT: 31Q (10 VR, 10 PS, 11 BS)
Median GPA: 3.58 overall, 3.49 BCPM
Residents: 1396 apps, 153 interviews, 49 matriculants
Nonresidents: 5376 apps, 490 interviews, 80 matriculants

Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, NY

Median MCAT: 35Q (11 VR, 12 PS, 12 BS)
Median GPA: 3.77 overall, 3.78 BCPM

Nonresidents: 4837 apps, 957 interviews, 107 matriculants

University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ

Median MCAT: 31P (10 VR, 10 PS, 11 BS)
Median GPA: 3.64 overall, 3.60 BCPM
Residents: 1121 apps, -- interviews, 155 matriculants
Nonresidents: 3056 apps, -- interviews, 15 matriculants

THANKS!!!!!!!

UC Irvine:
Average GPA
Average MCAT sections
Number of applicants
Number of interviews
Number of acceptances

Thanks!

Hey, this is really generous of you! Could I see the University of Missouri-Columbia MCAT/GPA and number of applicants, interviews, and acceptances.

Thanks!

Wow, thanks for doing this for everyone :)

Can you put up stats for MUSC and for UCinnci are they still listed as not having required courses only recommended?

Thanks

I'm currently trying to decide whether or not to buy the 2008-2009 MSAR... I'm applying june 2008. So should I buy that one or should I buy the 2009-2010 MSAR. I am also an URM, so should I also get the MSOUSMS, and does anyone how often the AAMC updates it?

Thanks a lot exi and CM!
