Seems to be an extremely strong match list especially considering it's the school's inaugural class! Congrats! But a couple of questions...

Did anyone apply to general surgery?

And someone matched at Hopkins for medicine?? Are they in the Osler Residency Program or one of the affiliate programs? The latter would be very impressive!

Did anyone apply to general surgery?
I'm not sure, but I think there may be 1 or 2 people.

Yes it is Hopkins Osler Residency Program, not an affiliate.

The places that TCOM grads match always impress me.

Nevermind. Threads were merged.

Congrats on a great match TCOM!

Can the mods sticky this thread since results will be trickling in?

As expected of TCOM, most students matched into primary care. I mean who wouldn't when the tuition is so damn low. Overall, great results.

because of TCOM, texas hospitals seemed to be very friendly to the DO applicants for residencies. I cant wait for my turn and comeback home :)

The other thing about primary care in TX is that because of the very low cost of living, you can definitely live nicely as a family physician.

Wow. That's a RACK of people going into Peds.

Sad, but so true. Another sexy matchlist from a great osteopathic school

Sticky is a good idea.

I think TCOM's match list this year firmly places it in the top 3 DO schools.

Someone know CCOM? Rumors are there was a Allopathic: Derm, Plastics, any truth?

Saw the Touro Thread.

Can we solidify all the schools lists under this thread? Thanks!

I went ahead and merged the other two match threads into this one. Feel free to delete redundant posts, or if you need help, pm me.

Can the mods sticky this thread since results will be trickling in?

I have a feeling that sticky is probably not going to happen, as generally stickies are kept to as few as possible. However, I think this thread will be getting plenty of posts to keep it highly visible over the next couple weeks. You can always subscribe to it under thread tools as well if you want to make sure you keep track of it.

Sticky is a good idea.

I think TCOM's match list this year firmly places it in the top 3 DO schools.

 What? It was mostly primary care, but at good places. Only a handful of surgery and few ROAD specialties. Its good but I wouldnt put in top 3

Yes, but then one can question whether the low tuition allows people to pursue the speciality one chooses rather than the one that pays the debt off.

I agree.

It's definitely good but not THAT amazing.

Just a heads up, PCOMs match list this year is looking VERY nice. The list hasn't been published yet but I know several of my classmates who have matched into the "ROADE" specialties, many into allopathic programs (myself included).

PCOM rocks...

Thats nice that they have low debt and like primary care, but that doesnt make the match list great. Now, if I said TCOM puts out a ton of primary care docs then your statement would be justification for that argument.

Someone know CCOM? Rumors are there was a Allopathic: Derm, Plastics, any truth?

ccom consistently pulls off big allopathic residencies, last year i think like 15 students matched into surgery, half of them allopathic including a neurosurgery categorical at suny

Like someone said, combo of low tuition and the match list.

I guess the N is small so far, but it looks much better than Touro-Nevada, or previous match lists from other schools. Strong showing in Allopath Radiology, for one, and you can't beat the Dallas location!

Anyone know which hospitals TCOM uses for clinicals?

I agree.

It's definitely good but not THAT amazing.

Someone know CCOM? Rumors are there was a Allopathic: Derm, Plastics, any truth?

Partially True.

There was an Allopathic Derm. No plastics

Lot of peds, psych, EM, IM, Family Med, 2 Neurosurg, 2 ENT, 1 Optho, 3 Ortho, 6 General Surg, a Peds Neuro at Mayo, couple Rads, PM & R (including RIC, U of Michigan, Boston U, U of Washington). I don't remember what else off the top of my head.

and supposedly this year they are going to make the list more accessible

list wasnt accesible last year? I got a copy of it last year telling me where all the 07 grads went. Do you mean accesible time wise? It was released around june/july.

They should release it the day of or after match day, like most medical schools who are proud of where their graduates go..

See attached...

some schools dont release it until after graduation.

Haha...lots going into ortho this year, it seems.

Not really check out 2006 they had like 20 go into ortho. Lots of family med this year

Huh? I think they had 9 ortho matches in 2006, unless I missed 11 others somewhere. 7 is definitely a LOT for ortho. We had about 40 for Family Med, which is pretty much par for the course - That's only ~20% of the class (assuming none of the TRIs go family med).

Very solid match list, as always.

I stand corrected

Unfortunately, this list does not include people who did an AOA internship and then applied for a residency that starts PGY2. I know of two interns who graduated pcom last year who matched derm, I believe they are both osteopathic derm programs.

BRING IT!

I've looked at the other DO school's match list for 2008 -- PCOM's is the best. HANDS DOWN.

My classmates have matched into great fields and into great programs. Every single "ROADE" specialty is represented.

Yes, I know Derm isn't on there, YET. As the previous poster stated, they're listed as doing only an intern year on the match list b/c you apply for DO derm spots during your PGY-1 year.

What we also have to keep in mind is DO Plastic surgery. PCOM has a PS fellowship and almost every single year both spots are given to PCOMs General Surgery residents.

Did I mention PCOM rocks?

PCOM's match list also does not include people who signed outside the match (allopathic match).
