I'm going to say that 200+ is upper level ~ do not count your pre-requsities like physics or o-chem~

7 upper level bio, plus the two labs that went along with 2 of those courses.

edit:: forgot you were counting genetics and micro, so i guess thats 9 really, plus 2 lab courses

My TA'ed courses are listed with the number "490"...
If you wanna count those, I guess that I would have three upper levels
(2 bio and 1 chem).

Beyond those and the pre-reqs... NADA!

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it. I just listed my upper bio classes only.

Environmental Chem.

I also did a independent research class that counted towards my upper levels.

So that's 12 upper level classes.

Never really thought about it. I'll list them now: PChem, PChem lab, cell bio, microbio, cancer bio, pharm, advanced pharm, biochem I & II, pharm lab I & II, modern physics, physiology, and ecology, plus four 400-level research classes that count as BCPM classes. That's 11 classes, three labs, and four research courses.

I'd love to take more upper-level physics and math courses for fun. I didn't major in physics because it doesn't come to me naturally, but I really enjoy modern physics.

200+ is "upper-level?" I've never heard anyone use the term for anything less than 300-level, and they usually mean 400 or above. Wouldn't just taking the pre-reqs put you close to 6?

Anyway, I probably took over 20 200+ science and math classes. I'd need a transcript to get everything down, but off the top of my head:

Math: Calc 3, Diff Eq
Bio: molecular/cell, genetics, ecology, 2 botany, animal behavior, evolution
Physics: E&M, mechanics, 3 astrophysics, space/time, quantum, modern physics
Chem: analytical, 2 organic, 2 biochem

That's 22 right there, and I'm sure there are at least a few I'm leaving out.

My criteria of 200+ as upper level is because at my school most classes like microbiology and anatomy are 200 courses and considered upper level. Also I also said to not include your pre-requisites in the count because those are classes we all take so it's not useful to count them.
 
Using the defn of 200+, I don't know exactly. Here's an incomplete list.

Math: Calc 3, Diff EQ
Biology: Genetics, Microbiology
Chem: PChem 1+2, PChem lab (3 credits)
Physics: none
Engineering: over 20 different 200+ level classes

So at least 25, if you count engineering.

At my school, upper level science classes were 300 and 400 level. I really enjoyed my upper level science classes and did much better in them then my gen pre-req stuff. I took the following.

General Biochemistry
Principles of Biochemistry Lab
General Microbiology w/Lab
Pathogenic Microbiology
Genetics
Molecular Genetics
Bacterial Physiology
Systems Physiology
Biochemistry of Toxicology
Comparative Virology
Endocrinology
Immunology
Lab in Immunology
Animal Behavior
Parasite Ecology
Ethics in Basic and Medical Sciences

There were so many other things I wanted to take but just couldn't fit in. I would have loved to have taken Parasitology, Principles of Neurosciences, Cancer Biology, Microbial Genetics, Histology, Cell and Developmental Biology.

I forgot to mention i got to a liberal arts college. so you have to take about 30 credits of philosophy and theology and arts!!!!
Bio majors at my school have no social life b/c of 18 credits every semester of hard classes

You are so lucky you got to take human anatomy. Most colleges either don't offer it or like mine, only allow exercise science majors take it because there is only a few classes available. Most medical students wish they could have had anatomy before medical school!

Im graudating in may, but im possibly going to stay an extra semester to take the class. Its the hardest class at my school, but i think i will just take it so i can pass it in med school.

Most medical students are able to pass anatomy without having it as a undergrad but you'll have a major leg up over everyone else once you get to med school.

Agreed- I know people in my class who took and/or TAed undergrad anatomy and still struggled in med school anatomy, and then there were people who rocked it but never had prior course work in it.

I wasn't trying to imply that is was as hard or on the same level as medical school anatomy. Stop assuming things. I just meant he'll have a little bit of a base knowledge of some structures before going. It can't hurt to know a couple of basic things about anatomy before going into med school.
 
Christ, I've taken pretty much every Neuro class I can get my hands on and I know I'm still going to get raked over the coals come neuro time in med school. I think I might be one of those sick bastards that actually likes the class though, considering the reputation I've heard is carried with that class.

(The worst class ever one M2 told me while working in lab with her, and we work in a neuroscience lab!)

Some would argue that you'll be learning anatomy the wrong way in undergrad and it'll take a bit of time to undo the damage before learning.

That is most certainly a possibility. That could be a reason why my undergrad institute only allows exercise science majors to take it.

Im kind of torn in the middle.
A few graduates from my school that went into med school def said that Gross anatomy helped them in med school. So i guess your saying that i shouldnt stay an extra semester just to take it, right?
