Hi All,
This has been attempted in the past in some way or the other. I would like to start this fresh thread so al of us could share the info which will help us make better decision in choosing the right school, when the time comes to us all. This analysis is specific to IDP programs.

Selection Process 2003: Didactic Test (ant PFM,3/4 crown with MOD,class 2 MO inlay and class 2 DO), 2 Interviews (30 min each)
Positives: Excellent for Clinicals, Very Professional faculty and staff, Bay Area & Nice SF living
Negatives: High Tuition Cost, Few Seats, Low on Research and PG, High cost of living

UCSF - San Francisco, CA
Stats: 24/ DDS/ 2 Yrs/ 83/ 230/ 100K/ 21K/ 415 476-2737, 415 514 0779
Selection Process 2003: Part 2 kind of written test, Didactic Test , Interview
Positives: Reputed, State School, Bay Area & SF living, Good overall school
Negatives: New Program, Avg Patient Pool, State School(little laid back), Cost of living, Difficult to commute

USCLA - Los Angeles, CA
Stats: 32/ DDS/ 2 Yrs/ Pass/ 250 preferred/ 100K/ 11K/ (213) 740-2841/2851
Selection Process 2003: Didactic Test, Group Discussion, Interview (Not in 2003)
Positives: Reputed, PBL-Problem Based Learning(less theory more clinic), High Patient Pool& Clinicals from Day1, Old & organized IDP program, LA living, Huge Alumni network
Negatives: Going through transition to PBL, Not so safe neighborhood, Cost of living

UCLA - Los Angeles, CA
Stats: 12/ DDS/ 2 Yrs/ Pass/ 220/ 100K/ 20K/ (310) 825-6218
Selection Process 2003: Part 2 kind of written test, Didactic Test , Interview
Positives: Known for research, Easy to get into speciality programs, Reputed, Posh neighborhood, LA living
Negatives: New Program, Very Small Patient pool, Not known for clinicals, High cost of living, Small class

Loma Linda - Loma Linda (80 miles from LA), CA

Selection Process 2003: Filter 1: Didactic Test (Mostly basic artistic) Filter 2: Interview
Positives: Good Patient Pool, Low Fee, Low Cost of living, Shortest and old program
Negatives: Religious faith enforced as part of the curriculum, non uniform selection process, not a well known name except IDP

UPenn - Philadelphia, PA
Selection Process 2003: 3 Interviews (15 Min each)
Stats:35/ DMD/ 2.3 Yrs/ Pass/ 213/ 100K/ 35K(including prestart program)/ (215) 898-0558
Positives: Well Reputed, Good Clinicals, Diversity in class, Ivy league
Negatives: Not so safe Neighborhood, Unpredictable, Old Technology
Notes: Selection Process emphasizes on Diversity, Unpredictable Selection Process

Tufts - Boston, MA
Stats:14/ DMD/ 2.3 Yrs/ P1 90, PII 85/ 250/ 100K/ 10K/ (617) 636-6639
Selection Process 2003:
Positives:Highly Reputed, Clinical as well as research oriented,
Negatives: Tough to get in, Have not heard many negatives

BostonU - Boston, MA
Selection Process 2003: Short 20 Min Interview
Stats: 65/ DMD/ 2 Yrs/ P1 85/ 250/ 81K/ 15K/ (617)638-4787
Positives: Good patient pool, old program, Cheaper, Student City
Negatives: Big Class, No 1:1 Chairs for students, Limited exposure to clinicals (No clinicals for first 10 months)

UPittsburg - Pittsburg, PA
Selection Process 2003:

Positives: Good Program, Good Place
Negatives:

Positives: Big Class, Extremely good Patient Pool, Big School name, New York Life, Getting good with the new dean
Negatives: Not highly Reputed IDP program, Highest Fee, 3 Years program, High Cost of living

Nova SE, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Stats: Space based(avg 5)/ DMD/ 3 Yrs/ P1 85/ 225/ 110K/ 0K/ 954 262-1101
Selection Process 2003:
Positives: Excellent Facilities, Florida life, Less Expensive
Negatives: New Program, 3 Years, Space Based and not highly defined, Non responsive Admisions Staff

UCOnnecticut, Farmington, CN
Stats: Space based(avg 2)/ DDS/ 3 Yrs/P1 Min 90/ 230/ 110K/ 0K/ 860-679-2175
Selection Process 2003: A lengthy Didactic Test , Interview
Positives: Reputed school with #1 in NBDE scores, Less Expensive
Negatives: 3 Years program, very small and Space based IDP, Pref to Connecticut Residents

Uof Florida - Gainsville, FL
Stats:
Positives: Beautiful Beaches, Decent School
Negatives: Florida Residency Required, Green Card Preferred, 2 Yr program gives only certificate to practice in FL, 4 Yr Program will give DDS, Not so well defined programs, limited Patient pool.

UIllinois - Chicago, IL
Stats: 20/ Certificate/ 2 Yrs/P1 80/ 213/ 80K/ 10K/ 312 996 2873/ IL Residency preferred & Gren Card required.
Selection Process 2003: Part 2 kind of written test, Didactic Test , Interview
Positives: Easy to Get in, OK school, Chicago life
Negatives: Can practice only in IL, No DDS/DMD Degree

Indiana Univ - Indianapolis, IN
Stats: Space based(avg 2)/ DDS/ 3 Yrs/P1 90/ Toefl/ 90K/ 0K/ 317-274-7957/ IN Residency pref.
Selection Process 2003: A lengthy Didactic Test , Interview
Positives: Less Expensive, Good school, Problem Based learning
Negatives: Indiana Residency highest preference, Small & Space based IDP, 3 Years, Problem Based learning

UDetroitMercy - Detroit, MI

Negatives: Not high Patient pool

Temple - Philadelphia, PA
Stats: 0-4/ DMD/ 2-3 years/ High/ High/ XX/ XX/ XX: Not much Info on this school
Positives: Reputed Institute
Negatives: Not so safe neighborhood

Case Western - Cleveland, OH
Stats: Space based(avg 2)/ DDS/ 2-3 Yrs/85-90/ 213/ 90K/ 0K/ 216 368 2460 / 3200
Selection Process 2003: A Lengthy Didactic Test , Interview
Positives: Extremely good facility, V less expensive
Negatives: 3 years, less known, Small & space based IDP, Not so safe neighborhood
