PPI for Barrett esophagus after esophagoduodenostomy?
During the EGD, Barrett esophagus is diagnosed. Omeprazole is taken following the surgery. Without parietal cells, how does PPI work?(or some metaplastic cell have acid secreting function which can be suppressed by PPI?) Would EGD increase the risk of bile reflux and aggravate metaplasia?....:dead:- pzh200707
