Hello everyone:

I am looking over the 2002 Princeton Complete Book of Medical Schools and there are 4 California Schools that cost 'ZERO' dollars to attend (for California residents of course). Am I Hallucinating or is it a typo? If this is true I am postponing my medical education until I become a California resident.

😕 😕 😕

The schools are

UCLA
UCI
UCD
UCSD

Haha, I wish. Check the MSAR for the numbers and add 40% for this year (all those schools come out to be around 20-24k/year). UC splits tuition and fees into two categories which can make it confusing.

No, it is not free to attend any of those schools.

A good thing too, imagine the competition for admissions to a free medical school.

Pinker got it, but this website should have better info than princeton:

Professional schools increased in cost this year, by about 5kish too, so UC's are now closer in cost to other state schools.

We lost all of our money 🙁

Hopefully this will decrease out of state competition and possibly in state competition 👍
ironically, the website you cited also states that the tuition for those schools is "0"
