Morehouse prefers in-state and accepts Asians, and accepted 15 Asians out of a class of 92. I think I will keep all my in-state schools for now.

Go read their mission statement very carefully. Do you have evidence of service in communities of color, and commitment to same?

Add EVMS, Duke, and Mayo to the iffy list. Consider Gtown. I can't recommend Penn State, for reasons stated elsewhere. If you wish to stay close to home, consider PCOM-GA.

I did consider Mayo but thought their small class sizes would make getting a spot much harder. Duke's median MCAT, according to MSAR, is 516. I just thought that was way too high for me. I was looking at EVMS and they seemed pretty good. For Georgetown, a non-competitive applicant has a <125 in a section (I have 123 on CARS). A highly competitive applicant has at least 100 hours of research and 100 hours of direct service to the underserved, which I don't have. So I'm not going to consider Georgetown.

I will definitely add EVMS as a consideration and maybe Mayo as well. I just feel Duke is out of my league for me. Also, why is Penn State a bad choice? I looked at everything they considered (I think) and thought it was a good pick. Thank you so much for your detailed answers!

You're in striking distance for Duke.
You have a good list. The 123 CARS may hurt, but if you don't apply, your rejection rate will be 100%. Chances will be best with Mercer and MCG.

Yeah, I think Mercer is a safe school and I have a good chance with MCG. Should Duke be another reach school? My reach school is Emory right now and I feel like I have okay chances with all the other schools and would rather add a school with an okay chance like EVMS or Tulane rather than with Duke. What are your thoughts?
EVMS or Tulane then.
