I just can’t see mentioning that you’re an alum of their associated undergrad doing much. You’d essentially just be reminding them of some rather insignificant piece of info that they saw in your primary. Can’t hurt though so by all means go ahead@Ak09 was thinking I would frame it in terms of I have many ties there that are still ongoing?
You can certainly reference anything you want, but, if it isn't new news, why would you think it would have any effect? Thanks!
Yeah - this sounds great as part of an LOI after you are on a WL. It gives them reasons to think you might actually matriculate after they have already interviewed and not rejected you. Here’s what I think- if you wanna mention that it was your undergrad, make the letter also reference your continuing interest in the school, and why being a graduate of the school makes you a better candidate and/or more likely to matriculate. Talk about how your time as an undergrad gave you knowledge of the area, a support network of friends and mentors, or how much you would like to go back to where the school is. You have to play it as a strength, at least that’s my $0.02
