1st to declare a Romney presidency

Really? If my memory serves me correctly, we couldn't have stem cell research during the Bush administration (because GWB thought stem cells we actually tiny people), and guess what? Now we can.

And that equates to MOST Republlicans how? Also, you just changed the goal posts.

Why does that surprise you. If bet the 80/20 rule doesn't even apply. I think most people only vote for their special issues, the rest is just rhetoric to them. The average person isn't really that bright either, unless they make a real effort to understand the issues, they just regurgitate the (well spun) bullet points from cnn.

I already made my point on post #85. I'm still waiting for Romney's supporters to explain to me his plans for America, especially the 20% tax cut across the board. Can someone do the math for me (since I'm so stupid)? Even Paul Ryan is unwilling to do it.

Thank you for insulting me by the way.

I will benefit greatly from the Romney tax pan. I would settle for a "grand bargain" where my tax rate goes from 35 to 33 but my deductions are significantly capped. I'm for a balanced budget but one with a fair tax code.

Romney wants a top tax rate of 28 percent but that won't work. He will bargain with Democrats and "settle" for 31-33 with capped deductions. The math must work before the plan can go into effect.

Romney knows how to reach across the aisle and get things done.

Says who? In all seriousness, Romney was viewed as a complete failure as a governor by most of Massachusetts. Even my parents who are staunch republicans hated him when he was in office because he didn't do anything except institute the healthcare plan. He was running for national office for a huge portion of his term. He couldn't balance a budget and the state sank from 36th to 47th in small bussiness job creation. Massachusetts has had some great Republican governors but don't count Mitt as one of them. Bill Weld was amazing and should have run for national office but he was far to moderate for the national stage. Romney will appeal to the big money folks of the GOP but honestly won't do much good for the middle class.

I'm hoping for a Romney upset. But Obama has the electoral college advantage. If you look at the link above the odds favor Obama
Lets hope we all got to heaven as well. After all it is a hope. That guy (Nate Silver) called the 2008 election almost identical with the result when the ballots were counted. The trajectory of the election is set and only a major event can change it...Let hope that Ben Netanyahu starts bombing Iran before the election.

I hear that the Mayans were pretty good at predicting things too. So this guy predicted the obvious. Big f'in deal! Everyone felt the momentum in that race. First AA president, hope/change, transparency, bipartisan agenda, etc. Everyone was REALLY excited. AND they had McCain/Palin to "compete" with. In my conservative region, Obama signs were EVERYWHERE.

Fast forward to today. I see literally 50 to 1 Romney to Obama signs. And I am in a very important swing state. Excitement may not be there for Romney, but it sure as hell isn't there for Obama. Post as many polls and charts as you want but it is not going to give an accurate picture of the future results.

You fortune tellers need to figure out that you suck at what you do. And so do the professional fortune tellers.

Not a fan of either candidates...I will vote for Gary Johnson but I would not be upset if Obama win...I am scared that Romney will be a puppet of the tea party.

That might be the least informed statement of the day. Romney is a complete moderate and "RINO" to the tea party. Romney is the closest thing to the middle that has run in a long time. Good or bad, that depends on your views, but a tea party puppet is one thing he is not.

He was a moderate in MA but not during the primary..."I am going to defund planned parenthood", Sign a pledge to Grover Norquist, Oppose to 10 to 1 tax cut to revenue increase, etc...I can name many more...

Standard BS they use to get through the primaries and appeal to the base. It sucks but without the BS, the base will not be excited and they other side will win in a landslide. All part of the ridiculous two party system we have here.

Romney has been and always will be a moderate. I'd be happy to vote for a moderate democrat should one run at some point.

Only a staunch right-winger would consider Obama anything other than moderate. You can pretend that his first term was just some massive conspiracy to make us think he's a moderate, and in his 2nd term he will come out of the closet as a Kenyan-born New Black Panther Collectivist who will force us to bike to work, get abortions, and gay married, and but by most measures he has governed as a moderate throughout his entire political career.

His "socialist" health plan is none other than Romney's "moderate" health plan.

What part of "Obama is going to raise your income tax by 5% in 2013" do you not understand?

You're saying balancing the budget with a combination of tax increases and spending cuts is a radical proposition? It's basically what EVERY rational conservative and liberal (who's not running for office) thinks needs to be done.

It may suck for us personally, but it doesn't mean it's not a moderate, prudent thing to do. On the other hand, massively cutting taxes and increasing spending in the situation of huge debt levels, hoping that it will all just magically work out is the definition of a radical proposal in my opinion.

Obama is FAR from perfect, but he's not completely full of **** like his opponent.

The economy is too complicated to think that we can attribute its improvement or decline solely to government intervention, or to think that intervention will cause immediate changes in a 4 year time period. The economy is expected to recover well over the next 4 years regardless of who comes in, but the seeds planted by Obama are certainly a part of that. Bill Clinton explained it well:

http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2...nning-to-steal-credit-for-obamas-recovery.php

Of course if people want to be honest, people just want Romney in because it's going to benefit us as physicians , not because it's what's good for the US as a whole.

Your head is deep in the sand if you truly don't believe Obama is full of it. I do want Romney to win, but I'm not so biased to say that he is not full of **** as well. You HAVE to be full of **** to get through all the hoops to have a shot at election. It's a broken system, but it is the system we have. IMO, Obama's **** is more dangerous than Romneys.

I have NO problem paying more taxes if:

1. EVERYONE pays more taxes. Taxing the "rich" will not make a huge dent for several reasons. The deficit is the a problem of EVERYONE in this country. And EVERYONE needs to sacrifice to get out of it. The truly rich make most of their money off of interest and investments. They are not affected. It is the pseudorich making $250000 who also owe $300000 in student loans that get nailed. Meanwhile I watch our "buried" middle class RNs and front office staff pull up to work in their luxury cars. I am NOT ok with paying more taxes so they can afford a 5 series instead of a 3 series. And FYI, this evil "rich" guy drives a POS Toyota.

2. The extra revenue ACTUALLY goes towards paying down the debt. We ALL know that it won't! It will go towards green energey buddies of Obama or supporters of the Romney presidency. Don't increase MY taxes alone to pay for any more OBAMAPHONES.

To deny that YOUR candidate, whichever side they may fall on, is full of $hit is a biased, and quite frankly STUPID view. With the critical thinking skills physicians are SUPPOSED to have, I am extremely disappointed with the talking point non-sense that BOTH sides produce.

My reasons for voting Romney have been posted in this thread. I am not a republican, nor am I democrat. Rather I am a true independent voter who understands that the system is broken and that all sides are full of $hit. Please don't post any graphs or charts about why YOUR guy is not, because they are not immune from being full of it either. Turning a piece of poo into graph/chart form does not make it fact.

Obama is a stooge of the trial lawyers. Lilly Ledbetter is a perfect example of why. It is funny how he says he got "equal pay for equal work" passed. Lol this concept had already been in place BEFORE obama took office. this fool tries to take credit when he knows he is just giving a check to the trial lawyers.

all politicians are corrupt. Obama is a stooge of trial lawyers, unions, Solyndra, his friends in Chicago, and academia. Romney is a stooge of Israel, big corporations (which honestly I dont even mind), and the crazy right wing evangelicals like Franklin Graham, who are flip floppers saying Mormonism is evil, but then they take that language out of their site just cause Romney doesnt want GAY to get married.

Personally, I think u guys should just vote for me when i run (and believe me I will run for Senate, House, or something). Flat 15% tax for everyone, repeal obamacare, get government out of marriage ENTIRELY (marriage is just 2 animals getting together and procreating ), no more aid to Islamic countries except for Saudis cause they got oil. End the dept of education and energy. Get rid of medicare and social security. Education, social security, and medicare are not rights. They are entitlements. Man up and just admit it.

Thank you very much.

:claps:

Ok I will run against you. Here is a BRIEF summary of my positions:

Taxes: Flat 20% for ALL

Healthcare: Repeal Obamacare. Institute YoGabba-care. This model STOPS reimbursement to doctors all together. The patient pays the doctor directly and the insurance company reimburses THEM. Doctors then charge reasonable prices for care and no more insurance games. If this doesn't work, NO coverage for non life threatening issues. Reasonable prices for all.

Abortion: Not my business. If you can sleep at night, knock yourself out.

Gay marriage: Not my business. Knock yourself out.

Foreign policy: I will mind my OWN business. I will not be the f'in world police.

Energy: Drill baby drill!!! AND let's work on alternate energy sources while we drill. Why is this so g*d damn hard?

I will ban party affiliations. All senators will have to vote on how they think, not on how they are told to think.

So that does it. Vote for Yoooooo Gaaaabbba Gabbbaa!!!!!

I never said Obama wasn't full of it. I just said he wasn't COMPLETELY full of **** like Romney.

Romney's "plans" make no sense as they aren't really plans for anything other than getting himself elected. That is all he cares about. All politicians are crazy selfish, but I've never seen it to the degree that Romney is. He will say literally anything (occasionally completely reversing positions in less than 24hrs) to get elected. If his "plan" to get elected works, it bodes really poorly for the future of democracy in this country, as it will be clear to all politicians of any stripe that Americans are so stupid and uniformed that they will vote for anything no matter how much complete tripe they spew.

I certainly feel the frustration of being unfairly taxed at a higher rate while the majority is consistently taxed at a lower rate, but Romney is really George W. Bush all over again. No he's not as obviously stupid as Bush was, but everyone thinks it really won't be all that bad and what kind of mess could he really get us into anyway?

War with Iran, BIGGER deficits, fewer insured patients, worse infrastructure, and weaker education. That's what we're in for if Romney is elected. Any tax benefits are going to be wiped out by the economic implications of those policies.

Good platform except you erase any probability of winning with the Medicare and social security position.

Romney does flip flop every second. And Obama lies through his teeth and lashes out at anyone who calls his B.S. He also disobeys the US Constitution (Romney would do the same if elected). Everything Odumbo does is for votes. Everything Rob-me does is for votes. Both are liars, idiots, and dishonest. Just keep a look out for me in the next 20 yrs when I run. I'll PM you guys 20 yrs from now and let you know who I am.

Based on your post history the bolded made me LOL. Keep it real Park.

You have a sensible plan. I'm glad you're more worried about the economy than social issues. People who vote solely on social issues, do you even fiscal?

Intrade has Barack Hussein Obama with an odd of almost 70% to get reelected...Does anyone wanna bet against that odd?

We will do 10k....

Obviously a lot of these magicians(Intrade, Nate silver) predicting the outcome of this election do not take into account how fired up people are to vote Obama out. Nov 6th will bring left wing heart break, mark my words.

Dont care that much about Nate Silver (though he has been right before) ...How we gonna make it happen? I really wanna make that bet.

We will mark YOUR words. We will also mark osteo's words. Of course one of you will be right. And next election cycle, one of you will point to how you accurately predicted last election with confidence. Then maybe a newspaper will take up your blog if you post enough biased graphs and charts to back up your statements. Certain people will think, "WOW, that guy REALLY knows what he's talking about." When in reality, your guess has about a 50% chance of being right (giving the close polls).

Feeling a little aggrevated about all the reports coming in about Romney votes being counted as Obama votes by "accident" in Ohio and North Carolina. WTF. Is this election being held in IRAN?

I never was under the impression Nate Silver predicted elections but rather presented the probability of certain events happening given the rolling poll numbers. I can only conclude from your statement that you think the polls, in the aggregate, are deeply flawed and underepresent Romney voters. Can you explain your basis for concluding that.

Thanks

Another problem with Romney's lying...even if you believe in his platform, how do you even KNOW what his platform really is?! He flip flops on everything and says whatever it takes to impress the audience in question. He just got caught lying three times in a row about Jeep moving jobs to China, and Ohio is pissed. Bad move for Romney..

Who cares. He's better than Obama. Obama wants all your money and freedom.

Nate Silver nailed the outcome in 2008 accuarately. So now the left is clinging on to him like he is their god. Rasmussen also was the most accurate poll in 2008, and is predicts a Romney win by 2% of the popular vote with a 4% lead in swing states.

Can you explain in what way Obama wants all your freedom. I am confused. Thanks.

Sure. It will only take one-thousand words:

Obama has told no lies. Atleast we know what Obama will do if he stays president. The same BS. Romney has a track record of making things work. Obama was a community service organizer. Still is.

No he doesn't. You should for once stop watching Fox News/MSNBC/CNN. You might actually learn something about what Obama did (check post 85).

Mitt Romney is a venture capitalist. He generates money for himself by driving small, vulnerable bussinesses to the dirt. He knows nothing about creating jobs and controlling the debt.

Ok so you criticize someone for reading the major news sites and then spout off mindless rhetoric straight from the furthest of the left. And at the same time prove that you don't understand what a venture capitalist is while making accusations with no facts to back it up. Bravo! Medicine is not for you my friend. Your true calling is either to host The View or become a "journalist" at MSNBC.

It is clear that not many have thoughts unless they are planted in their heads by Fox/MSNBC and turned to REPEAT INCESSANTLY. The best posters have bowed out of this collection of propaganda regurgitation and I will do the same. Where is coprolalia when you need him?

I love the casual insinuation of systemic voter fraud thrown out in the last sentences. Classic!

One flaw of conservatives is they tend to think a conspiracy is occurring when things don't meet their expectations. I have a conservative friend who was ranting about how the state "lost" his ballet in the mail on purpose because he's an R; then, later that week he told me how his wife placed it somewhere without telling him.

Classic conservative. It's a whole new way of thinking lol.

There you go.
I'm still waiting for evidence that proves that Romney will make a good leader.

I have a question to all the libertarians on this board. It seems to me that a common tax plan for them is a flat tax rate. I don't get how that works since the bottom 50% of the country control 1% of the total wealth. Two problems I find with the flat tax is you are not collecting much revenue via a tax increase on these people, and if you tax the people who are already receiving govenment assistance to live, won't you need to increase their assistance making it more or less revenue neutral? Is there something I am missing here?

Hey could you please post more articles from the liberal propaganda sites? The HUFFINGTON POST??

Tell me something. Is there ever a hangover from drinking too much koolaid? Because the cognitive effects are astounding.

I'm not going to claim that Romney is the next great savior. However I will be voting for the candidate not content in marching us straight off the cliff. In that I am referring to the deficit in particular. I also hold BO responsible for the actions of CMS and our wonderful HHS. It's not just about what is better for us as physicians but more so for the patients. Look all around you. CRNAs are independent all over the place and now reimbursed to practice pain!! What's next?? Putting one of you relatives to sleep for a lap appy would be a stretch, but performing procedures which have serious complications and writting dangerous opioids that they have ZERO experience with? HELL NO! So answer honestly. What is better for the healthcare of our patients and for our country? Ever expanding mid level care without supervision? More government spending and deficit? And pgg has a fantastic point about the supreme court.

If Obama gets another four years, it will take a LEAST a decade to undo his damage. That is why I'm voting for Romney. It mostly has to do with how BAD Obama has done and how much more he plans on doing.

Please save your reply about Bush. We've heard it all from msnbc so you can save the direct regurgitation. And again... The HUFFINGTON POST??
