Hello All, Long time reader here looking for my first bit of advice. For background:

VA Resident, TX Native
2.98 Cumulative Undergrad, 2.85 Sci.
3.85 Post Bac, 3.15 in 1 Year SMP
506 MCAT
80 Shadowing Hours
500+ Volunteer hours
1000+ Clinical Working hours as Scribe and Medical Assistant
5000+ Hours as Counselor at Summer camp for children with special needs.

I am currently debating between a MCAT Retake and simply changing careers. Looking for a brutally honest look at what my chances are MD or DO given the sub-par SMP performance? Would a stelar MCAT prove fruitful or likely be in vain?

The 2.98 Cumulative Undergrad, 2.85 Sci are including the post bacc.
Without the post bacc grades, my cGPA is 2.88 and sGPA is 2.72

It is possible that you could receive interviews at some DO schools with your MCAT of 506. It is your sub 3.0 GPA that will limit your chances for interviews.
I suggest all these DO schools:
ACOM
ARCOM
NYIT-AR
WCU-COM
UIWSOM
ATSU-SOMA
WVSOM
UP-KYCOM
LUCOM
LMU-DCOM
ICOM
BCOM
Noorda-COM
LECOM (all schools)
PCOM Georgia and South Georgia
Apply in June and submit all your secondaries by July.
