2 months Psych or 1 month psych + 1 month IM for IMG application?

Hi i am about to take clinical electives in the US in order to become a more competitive applicant and i am and always have been focused on psychiatry.

Which do programs prefer -
2 months of Psychiatry clinical experience or
1 month psychiatry and 1 month Internal medicine.

Mainly i write because i do not want programs to think psychiatry is a backup for me, it is not in any way.

I am planning doing psychiatry research with a publication as well as taking step 1 in the coming year.

Ditto this. If you have no clinical experience in the United States and limited time, I'd max out the couple months you have in your specialty of choice.
