I'm assuming you mean 64K/year in loans yes?
Yeah...I loved the school and all, but 260K + for 4 years is Too much.

Does anyone know how often people get off the post-interview hold? I really like this school. I messed up my first interview, and now it's haunting me!

Would like to know the answer to this too, if only to put some sort of closure to my application cycle. Been waiting on post-interview hold since November.

don't be too heartbroken yet. I just gave up an acceptance today, and I'm sure a lot of other people are also dragging their feet in letting go of multiple acceptances so I bet there are a lot of spots that will open up.

I go to Penn State's main campus. I know of at least three kids who are holding on to their Hershey acceptances although they intend to go elsewhere. So, it's just a matter of time; there will be vacancies.

Agree with Demas...poor applicant etiquette! Why wait on them if they don't plan on attending?

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

1. There is no such thing as applicant etiquette.

2. These people are waiting for other admissions decisions. Would you fold your hand before you saw all your cards?

3. They're nice, well-meaning individuals. So, cool it.

4. Don't shoot the messenger.

4. Don't shoot the messenger.

1. Ummm, duh. Premeds are some of the most self-absorbed/self-centered people on the planet. Most could care less what happens to their fellow applicants, as long as they get what's best for themselves in the end.

2. Didn't you just say in your previous post that they weren't even planning on going to Penn State? So what does them waiting on other admissions decisions have anything to do with them holding a seat at Penn State when they have absolutely no intention of attending? :uhno:

3. I don't think anyone here cares whether they are "nice, well-meaning individuals." The only thing people care about is that they are holding seats at a school that they don't even plan on attending. I guess it will all pan out in the end. May 15th cannot come sooner....

4. The thumb-down sign was for the 3 "kids", not you. I tried to make that clear by bolding the sentence "I know of at least three kids who are holding on to their Hershey acceptances although they intend to go elsewhere."

I'm also at PSU right now and I dont think I know who Winston is talking about, as I only know 4 people from here that are going to Hershey as of now.

But in regards to what Winston originally said, I'm pretty sure he meant they intend to go elsewhere, pending that they get in elsewhere.

That being said, I personally don't understand why more people don't withdraw from their lower ranked acceptances. when I got into PSU-COM I immediately withdrew from my other lesser acceptances and interviews. Penn State even tells us to do this out of courtesy to other applicants. Then again, it does make me wonder if the lesser schools would have given me some monetary aid...

How can they intend to go elsewhere if they haven't even been accepted to where they "intend" to go? :uhno:

They could be waiting on admissions decisions, and perhaps if they don't get into the school to which they intend to go, they may want to keep all their options open. I'm only speculating of course, but there are students who are set on 1 school, and havent considered what they will do if they don't get into to said school (despite other acceptances). So perhaps many of these students will face a reality check and sit down and finally decide where they are going to go.

Hey Guys,
I've also been on the post-interview Hold List since early February... has anyone heard anything recently??? My letter asked me to not send any info unless it was an updated transcript and asked for no phone calls regarding my status but it's so hard to keep waiting!! I feel as if I should be doing something a little bit proactive!! I really like this school!
Advice??? Sympathy??? Anything???

I've been on the list since late October. I have no clue what they're doing with my application, or what my status is. I've called once and basically said, "if anything changes, we'll call you". So... yeah.

For what its worth, they said at 2nd Look this past Saturday that they accept approximately 3x the class size (which is 145). I'm pretty sure it sounded like they already accepted that many. I could be wrong though. But I just thought those sitting on the "post-interview hold" would like an update.

Best of luck.

I talked to admissions today. They said that year by year there is pretty big variation in how many people come off post-interview hold, but it didn't sound too good. I got the feeling that its only a few, after final interview day.

The class size was 135 in 05-06. I kinda doubt it dropped to 120 between then and now, but crazier things have happened.

Thanks for withdrawing, and congratulations on your other schools!

If anyone heres from post-interview hold in the next few weeks let me know. I'd love to get in, but even some more information would be nice. They're sorta a black hole!

So it's after the 15th. Has anyone heard anything from post-interview hold since the last interviews?

Am I the only person that can't wait to hear from them?

Does anyone have the E-mail for the Dean of Admissions or the Dean of the medical school by any chance? You can PM should you choose.

Thanks,

I haven't heard anything..... and am waiting very eagerly. I don't want to call them because they give the same answer every time. I am convinced it doesn't do much.. Wonder when they will start getting back to us!

I called admissions and got an answer that wasn't the standard non-answer!

They said that there will be people accepted off post-interview hold(!!!!), and that those accepted will receive a phone call or email telling them of their acceptance.

Now, if some brave soul wants to call them and ask about the timeline for the first few responses... I forgot to. And, I don't want to call them twice with almost the same question.

I bet it'll be midweek either starting wed/thurs this week or monday next week, but I would love to know.

Edit: And for the the truly brave, asking how many they know they are going to accept so far (the minimum) would be awesome too.
