On my interview day the admissions office specifically said they would never release the number of spots remaining in the class.

Additionally, it was stated multiple times that acceptance would be communicated via email.

There was a big storm that rolled through on Friday, but that shouldn't have interrupted any email service.
I believe the last interview date was today (possibly tomorrow, I forget the options available when I chose mine). Now the adcom is free to accept applicants and fill the class!

I only have a vague idea that it won't be soon.

Last week, they stated AFTER the class was filled & waitlist set & everyone notified, THEN the sub-committee on campus assignments will meet and make those decisions. No indication of how long that lag time would be (between filling the class and assigning campus).

So I called yesterday and the girl said that they had sent out acceptances this past Friday, but that there had been a huge storm and do there is likely to be a delay in the letters reaching their destination... I checked this morning and nothing- so I'm hoping the delay extends to later and I wasn't just passed up.

Have there been people from december who heard back? The most recent I've heard of were november interviewees... Which is baffling to me...

I'm only going on what the girl said to me- she didn't say anything about emails, just mail- and she said there was a storm that would delay things, but honestly it doesn't sound like they have sent anything out since the January acceptances that included people from no later than November... I really don't care what form it comes in, I would just like to know some time soon. The only consulation I take in their delay is that they give you their decision straight up- rejection, wait list, accepted- so if you haven't heard anything it only means that they aren't done looking at you.

All will be known within the next 6 weeks. Just gotta chill out and let it ride. Believe me, this is only the beginning of the waiting game, and getting all worked up about it will only make it worse.

Go do something fun to distract yourself from obsessing about medical school admissions... it'll help your frame of mind.

Unfortunately, slim to none. It sounds like even though they are really backed up and may in fact meet tonight, decisions will be handed down sometime in March.

I believe that it means that your file is still being reviewed.

For those already accepted with plans on attending, welcome to Augusta! We have a great home that is available for sale or rent; you could move in as early as mid May if needed. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home; great for 2-3 roommates or a young family. Very close to the school in a very quiet neighborhood.

Currently two 4th year medical student live in the home, one is the owner of the house; it is available to be shown now.

I don't think everyone who is accepted would say they are 100% going. I anticipate there should be movement! Just check MCG's SDN 2011 forums to see if there was a lot of movement last year.

At my interview they said that last year around 70 people came off of the wait list!

I interviewed on Nov. 16 and still haven't heard anything back from them. I called them on Friday in regards to the recent batch of acceptances, and they said that the admissions committe was no longer sending acceptances/rejections/wait list notifications based on when the applicant interviewed. As far as the person who I spoke with knew, the votings/notifications are being sent randomly. So all of us who interviewed will definitely be hearing back from them by the end of the month (good or bad).

I was wondering the same thing. On interview day(11/14) we were informed we would receive some sort of notification (i.e. yes, no, continue to review) in 8 weeks. I have not received any emails about my status at all. I have called and emailed, but neither have gotten me any information

I'm happy for the people hearing back but it seems ridiculous to have interviewed in early December and have heard nothing - not even a continue to review. I called admissions today for the first time and she said she thought they would be releasing decisions at the end of this month but then I saw that people heard back today so I'm just a bit confused? Seems like the earlier interviews have gone to some application limbo....
