Does anyone know how large the wait list is? Or if they'll clue us in at all as to if we're likely to receive an offer?

If anyone else who has been accepted can share the dates of orientation and the white coat ceremony I would appreciate it!

I was told the WCC is August 8, the Friday before classes start.

hey guys, do you know if there is a facebook page for DUCOM 2018?

Hi! I was accepted off the wait list last week, but will be declining my acceptance. I hope my spot goes to one of you guys!

Just wanted to share: Interviewed 3/11, Final decision, 5/22, Rejection, 6/7. Good luck to all of you :)

For those of you who lived in East Falls, is a car necessary when living there for the first/second year? Or were you able to get by with just a bike/SEPTA/public transport?

Most people who live in East Falls have cars or get their groceries delivered. During the week, if you need to go into the city, the shuttle runs 2 or 3 times an hour. The shuttle does not run over the weekend so you would need to take the train.

If you live in center city, you really don't need a car but must use the shuttle to get to school. Only issue is if you need to go to campus on the weekend for some reason. I live in center city and love it.

Did you see your status change before receiving the letter?
I don't know if it changed beforehand. I have been traveling and did not check until after I received the letter and it has changed to final decision had been made.

for anyone who received their fin aid package, did your loans cover the expected cost of attendance? I'm a bit short so I'm not sure where I'm supposed to get the extra money? private loans??

also, how safe is the area around campus?? i'm a little freaked out since the Philly crime is a little crazy...

My fin aid didn't completely cover COI, like maybe 2/3. I'm likely going to have to take out a home equity loan, or private once that runs out.

People usually take Grad PLUS loans to cover the rest of their costs if they get financial aid. It's just not part of the original award and will happen that way each year.

In terms of safety, the area directly around campus is okay, just be smart, lock your car and apartment doors. Also, there is an escort service that will pick you up or drop you off if you live near campus. I live at Rittenhouse Hill Apartments and security is great but the rent is a bit pricy. Honestly, I love it there and my husband is really concerned about the safety issue too. If you like it, PM me and I'll be a reference/use me as your recommender.

anyone have an idea if we can expect much more waitlist movement through the rest of the summer?

For those accepted off wait list, do you mind posting the dates you interviewed? I'm just curious to see if their wait list is done by ranking or simply based of the date you interviewed.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I interviewed in mid-late January, waitlisted in April, accepted early June.

When I called and asked, they said the waitlist is ranked, but they do not tell you where you rank.

Also, how do we apply for the Grad PLUS loan?

I believe so! Congratulations! Let us know when you get the packet in the mail.
I hope this means they're still pulling a bunch of more names off the wait list. fingers crossed :)

Thanks,

I interviewed early February, wait listed mid May, and was accepted early June

For those of you who have taken out GradPlus loans before…how do you know whether or not you have gotten approved? My credit was fine and they said they submitted it to the school. Do you get an email/letter from Drexel?

Interesting...seems like anyone who has gotten off the waitlist (and posted here) had a January or later interview. Maybe they've just forgotten about those who interviewed earlier (pre-December) lol.

Best bet is to check your financial aid files on Drexel One. You will not get an e-mail from Drexel other than when the loans get disbursed.

I just tried to check my status and my bookmarked link for the 2014 cycle has changed to the 2015 cycle...how do we check our status now?!?! This is so depressing :(

Yea...waiting for that phone call..which is the worst feeling. Its also really hard to focus on secondaries for next cycle while waiting to hear back from schools.

Does anyone know if the class is full? Or is there still a sliver of hope?
