Ouch, guys, sorry to hear about your rejections. Really. And this with your stats/profiles! Now submitting this secondary scared the **** out of me.

I kind of had an off day when I submitted my secondary. I didn't take time and make sure it was really what I wanted to say. Big lesson learned, I'm giving myself a waiting period before pressing the button.

I learned a lot about writing my primary and P.S. from their podcast. Guess I've learned something else from them here.

I see what you mean: I'm torn between the pressure to submit secondaries ASAP and the desire to write something meaningful in them 🙂
Best of luck with your other schools! (You seem to be a strong applicant, you should get into a really nice school!)
 
Question for those that have listened to the Pritzker Podcasts: are there any specific podcasts that you would highly recommend? There are many to choose from. I have already submitted my secondary, but I'm most interested in hearing about what they look for in a student, as well as anything else that is worth a listen. Later in this process I'm definitely going to check out the episodes about interviews (first I need to get an invite somewhere 🙂. Thanks!

Ahh just got rejected as well. But I do appreciate them telling me now, rather than keeping me on hold until March or April.

Just got an interview invite!!!!!! 😀 I am so excited, this is one of my top choices. I was complete around 7/17.
 
I can't access the secondary!!! I'm not sure why? I entered my info in but it's not letting me log in...BOO.

Lol, I mean it wouldn't matter if it wasn't one of my top choice schools or anything. Starting to think I shouldn't have taken a month off before starting secondaries.
 
Shucks. My first rejection. I know it was a reach with my MCAT (33).

Just submitted my secondary. I've had it for 3 weeks but I won't be verified until tomorrow (fingers crossed) so I'm hoping the long turnaround doesn't matter. Now to get that last LOR in so I can be complete....

Despite the somewhat ominous wording I'm actually pretty sure that that status means nothing, so don't fret! Until you get an email saying you've been rejected you're still in the running.

how strict is U.chicago's word count? I'm at like 500 and it recommends 400 but my writing is still less than a page. It's just a lot of "I" because I'm tellinga story which ups the word count.

Does the site have a word counter?
 
On the Applicant Portal my application is marked as complete... but have not received email yet. Anyone else?

Same here -- this is true for a bunch of my applications (committee letter just submitted yesterday). I think it simply takes time for them to process everything, I wouldn't worry!
 
Do you guys think it would be ok to re-use my diversity essay from last year? I plan on using a new challenge essay though.
