That time is upon us! I believe the last of the Psychology Ph.D/Psy.D. program application deadlines have passed or are coming up. This is my second time applying to programs and I found this site/thread helpful last year. Hopefully it will be again this year!

Please post (or send me a private message) your invitations here. I will try to update as often as I can.

Yup, happy to make it and be back in the same leaky boat together. I found the community on here quite encouraging to get through the waiting months. I even made friends that I still chat with! I know a few schools I applied to stated invites would be going out before Jan 1st (to think they have the time to review it all before the break!) so we might be lighting up this thread pretty soon here.

Saw on grad cafe that LSU invites went out for clinical. Has anyone heard from them? If so, would you mind sharing who your POI was??

Congrats to those that got interviews with LSU!

Congrats! If you want to send me the details I'll post up top and start our thread off with your invite.

I probably wouldn't post POI names publicly. Usually PMing is more appropriate. Just my opinion, though...

God forbid Professor XYZ gets a dozen emails today asking if they have sent out all invites or still considering more applicants. I also think it opens up some other dubious doors; you may be surprised how many current graduate students and even professors lurk on this thread each year.

Also if you list your gender, current status, and your username has any kind of hint....combined with the timing of your invite and post...you may not be as anonymous as you think you are.

Is it okay to post this information? As others have pointed out, faculty could be looking at these posts and I wouldn't any to jeopardize anything. Thanks and good luck everyone!

Good luck to the applicants this year. Having been in your shoes last year and now being on the other side, I can attest that as tough as graduate training is, it's a great place to be.

A Blue Duck is quite correct as well. Keep in mind that DCTs, professors, and graduate students lurk these boards frequently. Think about what you post before you post it.

Just a suggestion- when people add a school, can they also copy and paste the master list and add that school to it? Makes it easier to be able to look at the latest post and find every school instead of searching through comments.

Sounds like that would make things more confusing...

The list will get quite large, making it difficult to identify the latest addition. It's not too much to ask to just click on page one of the thread to see the master list [If the OP is so kind as to keep things updated].

Additionally, many people "watch" this thread and just want to see the latest school to be posted when they are notified.

Yup, happy to keep it updated at the top. I find that's the easiest way to keep things organized, especially as folks review previous years for reference. I'll try to track with posts and have asked peeps to use the format shown above to PM me so I can update.

I know things are about to get busy with a handful of schools historically sending invites this week and next so y'all just let me know if I overlook someone's update.

Just a suggestion....after a certain period of time, the master list can't be updated (the edit function disappears).

So just a random observation about this particular program's interviews. When I interviewed there (2 cycles ago), the interviews were all group interviews with about three students and a faculty member. I HATED this and thought it basically rewarded applicants who are were all "oh! oh! look at me! I'm special!" and not applicants with actual experience and fit. Which isn't to slam the actual program, but just be aware and that you may need to force yourself to speak up as much as possible and prepare yourself accordingly.

This is so helpful!!! Thank you for the heads up!

That does not always work in the favor of the "oh oh look at me" students. I've seen people dropped in rankings quite a bit for overpowering group situations and appearing overly arrogant. So, I wouldn't make the assumption that the most vocal applicant gets the worm there.

Does anyone know what "Out for Decision" as an application status means? This is my app status for George Mason and I was wondering if this is could be interpreted positively, negatively, or if it's a generic status that everyone gets.

With most schools now in the Finals + Holidays weeks here, some of these processes are slowed down/on hold. So, could be a flurry of activity after the break.

Yeah that's how it goes. It's best to just relax over the holiday as best you can and not expect to hear much at all.

You won't miss anything by checking your email only 5 times per day instead of the normal 30.

A lot of these programs have 2/5 interview days. It's making me nervous! Hopefully I receive more than one invite, and conflicting invitations is a great problem to have, but geez.

Also, received an email today that Georgia State counseling is reviewing applications now!

I think my program is planning to send out invites in the next ~couple days or so.

I'm worried about the same thing, haha (IF I am so lucky as to even have that problem to begin with!). I've been trying to read up on how to handle these situations....

I don't even know how I would decide. I'd rather them just be all back to back weekends lol.

Nothing can make me stop impulsively refreshing my email inbox every 5 minutes..... Maybe I'll stop on 12/23 and pick up again on 1/4 :)

I think, per the information listed on their website ( I applied there too!), it means that they received and processed all of the necessary applications materials and have thus submitted it to the program specialist/committee for review vs. still awaiting receipt of some materials and not being able to forward it for review!
