Hi,

Can any one please tell me what the interview (i.e., the types of questions) is like at the Chicago campus?

It's pretty basic. I kind of felt repetitive because I thought all three interviewers asked the same kind of things. I didn't have many questions that needed prep since they mostly asked about me and my background. They don't allow updates (I think) so I used as many opportunities as I could to throw in what I'm doing now and how it's relevant). I thought it was a very comfortable space although it seemed a little unorganized. I'm not sure if that was just my day.

Does anyone know when the next adcom meeting is? Usually they meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month but since they met last Thursday (1st Thursday of the month) will they push the next meeting off till the 4th Thursday?

I'm pretty sure that the adcom did not meet last week. The adcom doesn't decide who gets interviews or not. That is left up to the reviewers (or at some schools, it's a dean sifting through the applications/reviewed applications and deciding).

Ah thank you so much!

I completely understand that. I was freaking out thinking maybe they didn't get it but apparantly they got it a week ago and just haven't sent me my campus placement yet. :yeahright:

Guess we'll be waiting till May  Have you tried contacting them at all?
No I haven't; I've been meaning to but I've been really busy last month/this month so I haven't had the chance to call; maybe I'll try this Friday. From what I remember, people who got the hold email were told that their application will be re-reviewed in the spring so I wonder if that means people who didn't get the email will still get reviewed every month? Idk, UIC's system is one big enigma haha

I spoke to someone I met at my interview, and she said that my application (still decision pending without hold email) will be reviewed this month. I'm not sure if that meant it hadn't been reviewed at all, or just confirmation that it will definitely be seen this month, but it's at least something I guess.

So my application has been under this status as of now - "Applicant in progress". Any idea if that is a hopeful, in limbo, or give-up thing? I really would love to go to this school considering I am in state for it.

@JackieJormpJormp - Thanks for that link!

That's a good sign! Maybe the people in our situation will hear something definitive then, but who knows

I was accepted after the December committee meeting and got my placement letter in the mail today! Chicago here I come :claps:

It means you haven't been reviewed yet.

Got a letter saying I was placed in Chicago.
Interviewed in December and was accepted that month.

+1
Interviewed first week of october and still nothing, no hold, no accept, no reject. I'd be going insane had I not been accepted elsewhere.
I keep wondering if maybe they just missed reviewing us, or something. Especially since the post interview acceptance rate is so high. But maybe that's just wishful thinking. 🙁

Yay! I'm also Chicago. And we were all concerned about Chicago not having places left. Looks like that wasn't the case!

For those who got site placement in Chicago, was this before or after you sent your Hepatitis B form and official transcripts? Also, how long after they received your deposit did they withdraw the money?

This was before I sent the form or my transcripts. I used a money order so I'm not sure how long it takes for checks to clear.

has anyone had trouble accessing the different portlets on the my.uic page? multiple pages keep telling me "access forbidden" so I am not sure what is going on. Thanks!

I've given up being hopeful at this point, I think. I know that by the end of the day, I'm still going to be "Decision pending"...

There's a reason they wanted to interview you in the first place. They're still looking at you. Keep your spirits high. It's a marathon, not a sprint!

I just interviewed yesterday, they told us that they were backed up from December so ours wouldn't likely be reviewed until next month. For those of you waiting for results from December, this could be why.

Also, just thought I'd let you guys know you may* have 1 less competitor. My butt may have been irreparably traumatized yesterday.

*semi sarcastic, semi serious

Has anyone gotten additional correspondence and NOT been accepted? Wondering how indicative that tab is of an acceptance!

So far this year it's been 100% indicative! If you have that tab, then congratulations! 🙂

Has there been anyone with the tab yet? Doesn't it usually come out either around 5pm or tomorrow morning?

I am just one example, but when my status changed to show the tab last month, it was around 3:30 in the afternoon on Thursday. But in previous months, the status changes rolled out more slowly, sometimes not until the next day. I speculate that it has to do with how long the committee meeting takes.

Waiting for someone else to post a status update is agonising...
