We cordially invite you to attend the inaugural Yale School of Medicine Interventional Radiology Symposium!
The course will be hosted by the Division of Interventional Radiology at Yale, in conjunction with the Yale Medical Student Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology Interest Groups.
Interventional Radiology has revolutionized medicine by providing image-guided minimally invasive therapies that allow us to treat patients safely and effectively, with techniques that are unmatched in morbidity and mortality when compared to those offered by other specialties.
From the use of endovascular stents and grafts to treat peripheral vascular disease, to the use of percutaneous thermal ablation and transarterial embolization techniques to treat benign and malignant tumors, we offer an ever-evolving and expanding array of procedures to treat diseases in every organ system.
This one-day symposium is designed to expose medical students to the innovative, minimally invasive, and clinically oriented field of Interventional Radiology.
The symposium will include short talks from Yale Interventional Radiology faculty covering the wide breath of procedures and disease processes treated by interventional radiologists, the history and future of the specialty, as well as information on our new residency. There will be lots of hands on experience with procedural simulators. Additionally there will be plenty of opportunities to network with current Radiology residents, Interventional Radiology fellows, and Interventional Radiology faculty. Coffee, light refreshments, and lunch will be provided. All students are welcome to attend.Registration is free.
We hope to see you there!
