Can someone explain the major differences between the three campus? Thanks!!
Milwaukee is the "main" campus. Biggest of the classes, 4 yrs, focus on all possible residency paths.

GB, first regional campus, 1 class has completed first year, much smaller class than MKE. 3 yrs, focus is on primary care and, I believe, psych & general surgery.

Central WI same as GB, but is recruiting first class now.

Majority of 1st yr classes are taken together combining students at all campuses (via interactive live streaming).

Search MCW website and the interwebs for more details.

Does that mean there are more seats (because of the three campuses) or its just the number of seats in the main campus that are up for grabs?

Anyone know how to designate which campuses we want to apply to? Is that something we specify in the secondary?

So do all of the campuses take OOS or is there a specific campus for OOS?

I think they all take OOS, but Central WI and GB are looking to train students who are interested in practicing in those areas, so that probably translates to heavily favoring in state students. The two regional campuses have such small class sizes, you should be applying to the Milwaukee campus regardless, which is definitely where OOS students have the best chances.

Thanks a lot for this info!

Overall, more seats. But, the regional campuses (GB & central WI) are looking for a specific type of applicant. And before you ask, I don't personally know exactly what that specific something is.

They are looking for applicants who want to stay and practice in the areas to help fill the projected physician shortages there. Theyre specifically targeting people from the areas who stayed for undergrad, because they are the most likely to practice there. Also I think interest in primary care is desirable to them. I remember reading out of the 25 or so matriculants to the CW campus, 10ish were from 4 counties in central WI and 20ish were from Wisconsin.

Hey, all
I was working through the secondary, and got an error message in the Letters section ("An error has occurred while processing your request"). Was this because I hadn't assigned any LORs yet through AMCAS? I wonder if there just might be a glitch in the MCW system because I got the same error message even after assigning the LORs.

^ I get the same error message as well. I have letters assigned in AMCAS and I think its just because they are processing it on their(MCW) end. I was going to call next week if it hadn't changed.

Hey guys, I have a friend who has a room for rent around MCW in MKE, I'm wondering if there's a FB group or if anyone has any interest in it & I can put you in touch with her.
Thanks & best of luck to you all!

Weird that people got their secondary already. I turned my AMCAS primary in early morning 6/7 and still haven't received anything regarding it.

So were the prompts same as last year? If not, could someone please post them?

Thanks!

Hey- for the people that already got secondaries, when did you submit AMCAS/when was it processed/verified. I submitted on June 7 and was processed on June 9. Silence from MCW though...

Got my secondary this morning! Wondering how people are answering the "Why MCW" question? Any suggestions/discussions welcomed. Thanks!

Does the 1000 character count include spaces?

Yes. Just look at the bottom of the page as you're typing it in....
So is "Why MCW?" the only question? And since I haven't received my secondary yet, could you let me know if it includes spaces so that I can pre-write? I would really appreciate your help

Submitted June 7th at 9:32am / Verified June 9th

The Why MCW is the only essay that I see.

It is 1,000 characters

This includes spaces

Reference the website for key words, phrases, and programs specific to the school for inspiration

Thanks a lot!!

If it is the same as last year, then it's only the "Why MCW?" essay if you're just applying to the Milwaukee campus. If you apply to any of the regional campuses, you will have to write additional essays.

I got an email saying I should be receiving a secondary via email on Friday but haven't received the follow up. Anyone else?

Yes it's the only question unless you want to apply to Green Bay or Central Wisconsin campuses. Those require I think 3 more essays?

Anyone unsure about the Underrepresented in Medicine (URM) prompts?

Can anyone shed some details about the other campuses besides Milwaukee? Do they have different programs, or is Milwaukee just the main campus?

The other campuses have accelerated 3 year programs. You designate if you want to apply to them on MCW's secondary app, and then you get considered for them separately, I believe.

Hi everyone, I have a question in regards to the "LETTERS" portion of the secondary application. In the section "Visa/Citizenship Documentation (Optional)" it says:

"If you are a citizen not born in the United States or a non-citizen national, you must provide one of the following documents to our office:
- US Passport
- Certificate of Citizenship
- Certificate of Birth Abroad
- Certificate of Naturalization."

I was not born in the United States because my parents worked in a foreign nation, but I am a US citizen. Does this mean that I need to send the admissions office a copy of my passport before my application can even be considered complete? I have the rest of my application complete and ready to go including the secondary and LORs. Help is much appreciated, Thank you!

I would think so. I think you can upload a scan of your Passport. I am in the same boat.

Can any current students comment on the locations of third and fourth year rotation sites? Like @Astra118 said, their website is visually aesthetic but I can't find what I am looking for!
Thanks!
