Anyone interested in applying here this year? lol

Does anyone know about how many people are accepted into the 4 year program each year?

Hello everyone,

I am a current 4 year MD student at UMKC. I was accepted in October of 2015 & just finished the first 7 months. I will be starting up again August 1st. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and I will answer them as best as I can.

I am unclear,

Is the secondary and the general application the same? When I click the link in the email they sent me, it is dead. Can someone direct me toward the secondary application?

The apps are separate. You have to complete he general app to be able to submit the secondary. The secondary link is https://apply.med.umkc.edu/. Also can someone explain to me why the school is ranked so low? I'm not trying to troll or anything, I'm just really curious cause I've heard good things from others.

Hey guys!
I was accepted last year via early admission to begin in 2017. When I interviewed there they did mention that they only accepted 2 out of state students in 2015.

I know their undergrad has leniency for those in the metro (Kansas). Does anyone know if this is the case here?

Okay so I haven't yet received any e-mail from them. Am I screened out or do they send secondaries in waves?

Have you completed their general graduate application?

It's on their website, they send you a secondary after you send in the general app.

Anyone have any idea why this school has a relatively low number of applicants (< 2000) despite the fact that around 40% of its matriculants are OOS and their GPA/MCAT ranges aren't ridiculously high?

Their oos acceptance rate is very low (sometimes like 12 students) and they all have very strong ties to Missouri. I just graduated undergrad from there and everyone I have talked to says oos applicants are usually DOA unless strong ties are apparent

Sorry I thought this was mizzou thread, my apologies!

Anyone receive II yet? I had "complete" status as of 8/29...also, I called the admissions office because I thought the general app was a bit ambiguous. The guy on the phone said, "oh, I don't think we even look at that." :lame:

II!!!! wow was not expecting any MD love with my stats, anyone know how many people are interviewed/accepted? thanks

II here as well! Congratulations!

I would also be interested in interview/acceptance numbers for the MD program because a significant part of their class is dedicated to the BA/MD program.

Anyone else feel like this interview is kind of a waste of time? Last year they took 9 people out of 87 who interviewed lol...........

where are you getting this number? my friend in the 6 year program said 40 people dropped out of her class by graduation and that those statistics were pretty consistent...

The MSAR, last year they matriculated 106 ppl, 94 were BA/MD, 3 were early acceptance and 9 were regular MD (9 out of 87 interviewed)

From the numbers i'm seeing in the rightmost column on the MSAR, 14 were accepted to MD only... (106-92)...ahhhh but what is considered "first year" by the info provided on MSAR? Is it M1 or year 1 of the 6 year program? I'm guessing it's M1 which would explain why there were only 91 following year 1 of the program (the second semester of year 2 is where M1 begins).

Maybe my friend and you are both right. maybe they don't anticipate how many students will drop the curriculum throughout the entire program, and are just okay with not graduating an entire class of 106...whatever

Interviewed here today, these are the numbers we were given. They told us somewhere between 15-20 matriculate each year M.D. only. They're interviewing about 80 total but I think some of them are in the medical scholars program.

They said about 88 interviews with about 2 in the medical scholars program this year. If they follow most schools, which send out 2-3x acceptances to matriculated, it's not as small as it seems. I enjoyed the MMI.

anyone else get a thank you letter this morning in the mail? was all emotional and whatnot thinking it was rejection. schools sure kno how to mess with a guy's heart
yes +1 to this, those heartless sons a ******s

Anyone get an email about a decision yet?
