Enrollment of international students appears to vary widely from year to year. For the 2016 entering class, there were 251 internationals enrolled, representing 32 countries. Canadians took 1st place with 135 followed by S. Korea with 38, China with 17, and Kuwait/Vietnam each with 8. The largest contingent was in NY with 61, Mercy with 30, Boston with 16, and Rutgers/Case with 10 each.

Twenty four dental schools did not take any internationals. If we discount NY and Mercy, the distribution of students is roughly the same between private and public institutions. The statistical evidence suggests that international students are just as likely not to pay close attention when selecting their schools. There are 8 dental schools that clearly indicate that they do not accept applications from non-US, non-Canadian citizens who are not permanent US residents. Mississippi received zero applications from internationals; the remaining 7 managed to receive applications. Christmas in June.

Great information. Thank you!

Thanks, @doc toothache. I really appreciate these compilations.

Also, I would highly encourage you to pursue the doctor verification option on SDN:
Doctor Verification

While I think it would not only enhance the legitimacy of your posts on SDN, especially for those new to the forums, the badge program also seems to upgrade your account, which might help make the time you are kind enough to spend on SDN more pleasant for you.

Thank you, again, for all that you do. Please have a great day.

Very kind of you. It would be nice to have a "more pleasant" time on SDN, but couldn't that be more of a courtesy? You are probably right in suggesting that without the "Doctor Verification" the "legitimacy" of the posts will remain an open question. Oh well.

I certainly respect whatever decision you choose to make regarding the Doctor Verification process; I just wanted to make sure you were aware it was available :)

Thanks, again, for all that you do. Please have a great day.
