I don't have access to my phone (poor signal at work), so can someone who got accepted please let us know when you get the acceptance email? Thank you!

I'm a long-time lurker who decided to finally make an account...

Congratulations to all of the accepted and best of luck to all of those still in waiting. Current student here at CMSRU, feel free to PM me anytime with questions!

For those of you who have already interviewed, what was the day/interview like?

Based on past threads for Cooper, if you didn't get the call today and you interviewed in September (9/8, 9/22), it's not looking good. 54 people interviewed in September and they usually take 27 of that 54. It only takes 2 hours to call 27 people. I doubt they would save some for tomorrow. Sucks because this was my only interview!

For those of you who have already interviewed, what was the day/interview like?

Program starts at 8 AM. They give presentations on the school, curriculum, programs, and financial aid. Then they divide you into 3 pools. Each pool will do different things at the same time: Interview, Tour of Building, or Tour of Simulation Lab. Then you end with M3's giving advice to interviewees.

I thought I did well. I gave my answers clearly and logically. I thought I resonated with the school well and showed my personality. I remember an interviewer even asking me "What is memorable about you" and I gave my answer and she said how she'll definitely remember. The other interviewer also personally escorted me upstairs to the lobby and we began to talk even more (not sure if anyone else had this happen to them).

Number one tip: Be comfortable and don't be nervous! But have no expectations (good or bad) after the interview or you'll be like me and heartbroken.

Ah man. I have been really hoping for them to have encountered a seriously busy day and ran out of time... This was my only interview so far and I loved the school. I feel you though, I had a super busy day but could not focus at all since I was constantly on my email and Cooper application portal trying to find out any news.

Any idea when we find out about waitlist/rejection emails based on the previous threads?

Also, @antibondingorbital and @maddeh87 , did you guys receive acceptance emails and notice any changes in the portal yet?

I would be incredibly surprised if they continued to call tomorrow but the trend from Cooper suggests otherwise, especially since its only 54 people were interviewed. We'll see. Waitlist and rejection should come tomorrow and beyond. At least thats how the trend was the past 4 years.

@antibondingorbital @maddeh87 Pretty sure I met you guys at my interview. I definitely remember the 8 year vet from the air force. Congrats to you both!

I only received a phone call. The Dean told me that I should be getting an email soon, along with a letter in the mail.

Good news for everyone that interviewed. I called the admissions office and they said that there was a delay with people's decisions. They only sent out decisions to candidates that received unanimous "yes" from the adcoms. They said that they are still deliberating on "many" applications up until Wednesday night. Rejections, acceptances, and waitlists will be sent out Thursday Morning.

Thanks for calling! I hope this includes candidates from all of the interview dates, not just the recent one. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us waiting!

Does anyone know how to send updates to them? I couldn't find it in the secondary app. Just found out that I got a paper published, and figure if they are still debating over my application (interviewed 9/22) that it might help to tell them about it.

I just called admissions, and they said they definitely still have secondaries to send out!

Are there any other schools that do this? I applied to 47 and this is the only one I've gotten complete silence from pre-secondary...

Thank you! We had quite a good group interviewing that day, I was really impressed with everyone. And for some reason I kept craving apple cider donuts afterward...

I think there are other schools that do this. I'm not sure what their timelines are because this is the only school I applied to that screens pre-secondary.

Cooper does not accept updates. Source: I'm a current student and FAQ section on CMSRU website. Will they read it if you send it? Maybe...but I would then be worried about not following directions (personally, speaking). The choice is yours, brave one...

Does anyone know what day the adcom meets?
I believe the adcom meet on Wednesdays and send decisions on Thursdays (might be bimonthly, not 100% sure).

Edit: Hoping that we hear something this Thursday (for the ones that interviewed and have not heard anything).

Oh dang haha, my interview is before Thanksgiving...aka the Thursday after is Turkey Day...but at this point waiting is just the name of the game!
Thanks for answering though! :)

Does Cooper still do the patient interaction scenarios during the interview days? I can't find anything about it on their website or portal. I know some people who interviewed in August of this year said that it was still a part of the day, but can anyone who has interviewed very recently tell me if it is still done? I'm interviewing in a few days.

I interviewed in early September and we did not have patient interaction scenarios. They said they were too costly too maintain plus too time consuming to assess. Replaced with a tour of the simulation lab, which was pretty fancy. Good luck for the interview!

Also, I was in the first interview slot of this season. They never had patient interaction planned for this entire cycle.

Mine ended around 12-1ish. The last part is mingling with current med students, so you can leave at that time if you need to.

Got it! Thanks for letting me know. I may have gotten that confused with last year's thread.

Does this school give out a folder/bag of reading material? I'm just trying to figure out if I should bring my own bag so I'm not fumbling around with too many things in my hands.

They did not hand out a folder or any reading material if that helps!

I just received the acceptance email, so if you're waiting on that it should be out by now.

Congrats again! Any change in the portal? Mine has nothing new since interview. I was really hoping to hear back today... Just hope the few of us waiting get accepted soon!!!

I am super bummed that I still have not gotten a secondary from this school. I sent them my primary in mid July...does anyone think it might be a good idea to send them a continued interest and updates?
