When is white coat ceremony for Harlem Class of 2022? Is it in July 2018 or May 2020?
Are you sure that’s still the case? At my interview at touro Harlem first years came to talk to us and they all had white coats. So I think they changed it so that you have your white coat ceremony first yearWhite coat at TouroNY Harlem is after your 2nd year. Kinda lame, dont know about Middletown.
Holy moly are they still interviewing? Can anyone tell me information about the Harlem interview? I would really appreciate it!!!!
what are my chances with a 3.11 cgpa and average MCAT? My ECs are overloaded with shadowing, volunteering, research and traveling abroad for a medical brigade. I took my MCAT this January but didn't do so well due to personal reasons. I'm planning to take it one, maybe two more times just to get a high score. Thanks for your feedback in advance!
Is touro's curriculum systems based?
This being said, I just want to say that I received good feedback for being candid in my interview about not having a preference for what degree type. I did however shed light on the benefits of osteopathic medicine. If it is of any comfort to you all, I know that TouroCOM Harlem is still interviewing, and they tend to go pretty deep into their wait list, and can accept students even up until the first day of class! So hang in there!!! As far as the interview, it is two professors with one interviewee for about 50 min (I think...). Prepare to talk about why you want to be a DO (as opposed to an MD), talk about the importance of serving underserved communities, and show an interest in primary care. Having said that, I don’t think most people become DOs because they are enthralled with OMM (you may be the exception) and a good number of Touro students do not go into primary care. Good luck to you all!!!
Are you talking about stuff like stethescopes and stuff? Nah, we buy it all ourselves. The PD class will give you the list of required materials.Does anyone know if we get anything as first year students?? (Middletown)
Can anyone comment on the happiness of medical students at Touro? I’ve read some threads about scheduling being less than ideal in the past, is this still the case?
Thanks!

I believe it’s letter grades, not pass failIs touro pass fail?
You won't hear back before May.Anybody who interviewed at Harlem late March hear back yet?
Nope, radio silence for me. But it looks like it’s been taking ~8 weeks for people to hear back this late in the cycle.Has anyone from March 12 Middletown heard yet?
you get your white coat at Harlem but you don't have the actual ceremony until the end of second year. at Middletown, you have it before first year begins. Are you sure that’s still the case? scheduling is a nightmare, especially this semester. but we only have a month to go and the worst is behind us. fall semester is great, there were like 3-4 long weekends due to the jewish holidays. spring semester, we've had at least 1 exam per week and there's like one jewish holiday, i think. it feels like hell but time goes by, regardless. as far as happiness, it's med school lol..some days are harder than others but some days are really good too. second year scheduling is MUCH better. Can anyone comment on the happiness of medical students at Touro? Can anyone explain how the waitlist works? How are we placed onto it?
Well, I know that tuition at lecom is unbeatable and it's not too far from New York. I interviewed there in August. It was a 8 hour drive, but an easy flight. Middletown is a great location but the school is new and the tuition is heavier than that of lecom. Atsu kcom does indeed have the history, but regardless of where you go, what matters most is how well you do. Figure out what you find most valuable and resourceful towards becoming the best version of yourself.Guys I’m confused and would love some feedback. I’ve been accepted to Levon (which I’m not going too), atsu kcom and touroNY Middletown. Idk which school to go to. I’m from NY and would love to stay close to home, but I would also love to go to kcom because of the school’s history.
Does going to a one DO school over another really make a difference?
If you had a chance, would you go to touro again?
Not a current Touro student but honestly, go with your gut. Also, think about whether you prefer flipped classroom with mandatory clicker sessions vs a traditional curriculum that is attendance-encouraged and which teaching method meshs best with your learning style. Personally, I loved the clicker sessions that I had in my undergrad science classes and found them to be a great way to keep me on task but I also had some friends who despised doing clicker questions during class and/or preferred studying on their own rather than going to lecture. You have about 16 days to figure it out!Guys I’m confused and would love some feedback. I’ve been accepted to Levon (which I’m not going too), atsu kcom and touroNY Middletown.
