Errreee: can you tell me what are conditional acceptances?
Honestly I am not exactly sure. That is just what she said in the email, but I am thinking it means you are accepted as long as any prerequisites that haven't been fulfilled are taken by the end if summer I, background check clears, transcripts received, etc.

gpa 3.3

working as tech and many volunteer hours

i appreciate the schools that look beyond pcat scores and look at your overall application to have an interest in you as a person and someone who is passionate and dedicated to pursuing a pharmacy career :)

Schools souls definitely look beyond the "numbers" when evaluating applicants, but historical data shows a succinct correlation between PCAT scores and success in pharmacy school. While I'm all for the "underdog", I think that you should do some soul searching and determine why your PCAT score is significantly below average. I don't doubt your determination, but a solid foundation in the basic sciences is paramount in having a successful academic career. Take the next several months to review basic biology, organic chem and microbiology. You won't have time to review the basics in pharm school. Best of luck!

Omg, i just had my interview on 2/26/13. I just couldn't stop laughing at the math question, not that it was easy, no it was not an easy question for me, I actually failed the math problem. But I just couldn't stop laughing, the other people that came for interview were looking at me like, "she has lost it". But it was one of my most fun interview. Did I do well, seriously I don't know.

Lol I felt the same way. I actually turned the paper over thinking g there would be another question. I won't say what the question was but it was painfully easy, I thought it was a joke. I am actually a little concerned now that I overlooked something now since it was so easy.

How was the actual interview day process? Was it long/short, etc?

Thanks errreee!.
Does anyone know when the Summer Academy starts?

I understand how you felt. Me too. I was so doomed by the math. At that time, I didn't remember anything. About the interview, did you introduce yourselves at first or just wait for their question?

How were you doomed? I don't het how anyone could have not got the math question it was soooo eeaaasssyyy. Was there some part that I overlooked?

I recently had my interview at TSU and since many of you are wondering/preparing, I will share what I can about the interview. You will arrive 1hr before the interview and park at the garage. I had to ask around for parking, but there are two garages where you can park and I think both of them are in same walking distance. You walk in to the office and sign-in for the interview. Once you complete your math part there, you are escorted to the computer lab to do your essay. Both math and essay are very easy. I mean you took the PCAT. You can do this. JUST RELAX. After the essay you go upstairs for an interview. As many of you already know, it is an open file panel interview. I thought the actual interview was very short and to the point. After the interview, you just do the survey and paper they ask you to do/sign and you're done! Compared to other interviews, TSU's interview was very short. I didn't have to wait too much for anything since they had interview time set for each person. You can stay later for school tour too if you like. I think this basically covers the whole process. Good luck!

I wasn't given a survey to fill out after my interview. I was also told the interview was a CLOSED interview,

I got an invite March 6th sent Feb 26 via email! Do we have to reply back to confirm the date or do we just show up?

No I have submitted my application to the actual school but have not been accepted yet bc I have not sent them my transcripts.. But anyways yea I still got an invite to interview and did my interview in the 26th.

And yes you need to email ms Davis to confirm your interview date and time.

Oh man I just emailed her today to confirm it (that email was sent 4 days ago). I have had problems with my e-mail account, but now it is fixed. Is it still ok that I confirmed it before the interview date? I think she will get the email on Monday hopefully. =/

Yea it was easy, but if u are like me, that has been out of school for about 2yrs, that did not open a chemistry book b4 the interview, u will probably be laughing ur butt off too.

Ms Davis introduced me to them and they introduced themselve to me, and they asked me to sit down and the started firing questions.

Does anyone have any information on the math portion? I am just wondering what it is, is it pharmacy math, simple math, chem, or calculus? I am worried now after reading some of the previous posts. Any information would be great, thanks.

When I interviewed last year, we had to sign a form staying that we would not divulge the contents of the math problem or the essay. It explicitly said that an offer of admission could be rescinded should it be discovered that you either, gave or received proprietary information....

Yep! I had to sign the same this year

Oh ok.I had no idea, should I be worried though?

What is the pre-calculus prerequisite? I went to UT Austin and I don't think we have a class like that. I even have 2 calculus classes but I guess that doesn't fulfill it.

I was told if you have taken both cal I & II that you do not need pre-cal.. I would call ms Davis and check with her on that. She is the one who told me that.

Nope you need precal even if you take calc i found out the hard way... and have to take it during this summer.

I know but if you take BOTH Cal I and Cal II then you don't need pre-cal.

I have the same problem; I took Biostatistics and they told me it wont count for Statistics. Even though Biostats was a upper level course.

does anyone know when acceptance may be sent out for the interviews conducted until now? Even though there wasn't an introduction of any sort about the school when I interviewed, I felt connected to this school more than UH.

We should probably hear back from them around the end of this month. Their website says acceptance letters are sent out late March to April.

Ms Davis told me that acceptance emails will start going out to the top students on the 18th... I'm sure as ppl start declining they will send out more later

is TSU still sending out interview invitations? I still haven't heard back from them.

Does anyone how much the math part is worth with our total interview? After solving it, I was like what did I just do? Failed a simple math problem? :scared:

So I've already been accepted by 4 other schools. Then I get an invitation to TSU. Now I don't know if I should even interview because I've heard from everyone that TSU is the lowest of all TX schools. The only thing that's drawing me this school is it's in Houston, my ideal city to live in.

How were y'alls experience interviewing with them and do you see them being a school that employers would want to hire from?

Applied pretty late, Nov 17, 2012. Applied to 10 schools thinking I would probably get 2 or 3 interviews, and just hoping to get just one acceptance. I got all 10 interviews and have been to all except TSU in 2 weeks. I have a pretty low GPA so didn't really expect that much.

GPA: 3.24
PCAT: 84 (really high math and science scores)
lots of extracurricular
BA in Biology at UT

Least impressed of the other schools I have I interviewed at. I would not even go interview. If you do or have interview(Ed) you will see what I am talking about.

Sigh..that's what I was afraid of. How long does the entire interview process take?

The interview alone takes about 15 to 20 minutes (mine was closed file, not a panel but only 2 interviewers: a professor and a clinical pharmacist). However, they require you to come an hour before your interviewing time so you can do the math question (mine was given 5 minutes, but others' seemed to be different since they were given a bit longer time) and the essay (15 minutes).

I was not impressed at all. My appointment ran an hour late and then one of the interviewers was texting while they were interviewing me. I would say to not bother.

Rofl. Texting?

My interview is tomorrow!!! So is it a panel interview or two person interview?

Yes! Very unprofessional. Good thing I was accepted into my first choice and won't have to consider attending here.

Are the first round of acceptance letters suppose to be sent out today?

Some one posted earlier saying Mrs. Davis said acceptance would be sent out to the top applicants on the 18th which is today. I think the rest of the acceptance will go out within the next 2 weeks or so.
I had my interview about two weeks ago. When was yours?

Mine was on 2/26. I talked to Mrs. Davis today and she said she's hoping to get the first batch of letters out this week.

Yea now she is saying letters should go out either Thursday or Friday of this week

I had my interview March 6th. I have no idea when acceptance letters are going out but I hope I get in! Good luck to everybody!!!!

I had my interview march 6th too, I've been checking my email like crazy

I haven't heard anything either. Relax though when ms Davis says they were going out today to TSU that really means next week lol
