Hi. Does anyone know the policy on sending updates?
hmmm... should be hearing something soon with my 7/19 complete
+1 but I was complete before you lol
as far as I'm aware as long as the update is substantial they are willing to accept updates. I sent an update last year which involved Grades and a poster presentation at a national conference. as well as other things that I can't remember. I saved it until after attending an interview though. it worked out ok for me but this is also an N of 1.
patience guys. this is a soul-crushing, painfully slow, hair pulling out, nonsensical process. I totally understand you want to hear something and I would too if I was in your shoes. Unfortunately, Dartmouth has a weirdly small admissions committee and they take their time and (I hate to use the term but I have confirmed they do this) Holistically look at each and every person that comes across their desk. if you're in a gap year, I recommend doing something healthy or fulfilling at the very least. go hiking, learn a language ..... find love ❤️
just do your best to keep occupied. like I said earlier in the thread: most people don't hear back until much later in the cycle though some do find out early that is the rare exception. good luck guys I'll keep on rooting for all of you and I'm sorry to hear about the most recent R train that came through.
R this morning, completed 7/17
II! Complete early August! I’m so excited!
Complete late July and nothing....but stress.... :/
Hello, barely going to do my secondary for this school (yes I know its late, life happened).
But anyways I need some advice. I recently left my old full-time job, and am currently looking for a new one. How would you advice that I answer the question about my future plans for the next year? I intend on working FT, but not sure where it is going to be yet. Thanks in advance!
II, complete early August, three dates available throughout November
Just a fellow applicant, but I wanted to give input for your secondary (or if you get the question in a future interview). I have always heard honesty is always the way to go. I would briefly explain that you decided to leave your previous place of employment, without delving into too much detail especially if there were negative aspects involved. Then adding a succinct description of what type of job you are searching for would be a great way to conclude. Be sure to add other activities that you are involved in besides employment (volunteering etc) so that you give a fuller picture!
Dartmouth is moving soooo sloooow Anybody complete in early September here back yet?
nope! complete around 9/10

I was complete mid sept for all my MD schools and have heard nothing from any other them. I think it’s way early
When can we realistically expect to hear back ?........... the wait is killing meeeeeeee.
nice choice of shirt color.
Honestly I’m expecting soonest mid-november
Dude relax. Some of us applied the first week in July and are still waiting to hear back. If you're stressing this hard already then you're not going to survive the cycle. Close your tabs, go outside, read a book. Do something else to keep your mind off things. You might not hear back until April.
^THIS! The med school process is not a sprint.

For most schools I’d say it’s a self paced jog. For this school, it’s more like a crawl
Truth is, we are all going to stress. The moment we turned in our applications was the moment we signed up for months of anxiety. I would say though as long as it doesn't affect our daily activities, this behavior is just normal.
SPOT ON ,friend. That’s exactly what I meant too. Too bad some people took the literal meaning of what I said and thought it’s actually killing me
Exactly, thank you !! It’s crazy how some people read into things like the “wait is killing me” and think it’s actually killing me. It’s just a figure of speech in case y’all didn’t know.
But when my email alert sounds MY LIFE STOPS... this is followed by immediate sadness because it was junk!
Hahahaahaha I feel ya on that one
does anyone know if any post-interview decisions were ever made? it sounds like the consensus is we were all told some people would hear on 10/15 and it seems like at least 1 person would be on sdn...
Most are done in The spring IIRC, save for a few exceptional candidates
I read LIFE ALERT cause it was in all caps and was happy for you
I'm on the same boat. This wait is killer
