For the people who went to second look, the white coat sizing stuff that was sent out today, are we supposed to choose a style of white coat as well?
Is there a style option? I don’t see that. For the people who went to second look, the white coat sizing stuff that was sent out today, are we supposed to choose a style of white coat as well?

I’m confused as to why we have to do this again if we already did this during second look day. Should we go by measurement sizes from that table or the size that we tried on during second look?
It gives us a list of styles and sizes that’s what confused me, and I didn’t go to second look so I’m just going to go with my suit size and hope for the best. If I had already tried them on I’d go with what fit then.

I think we chose the style because it says the MDT11WHT is ladies, MDT13WHT is mens regular and MDT14WHT is mens tall.
Oh I see it. The chest size thing is throwing me off. That would put me at a completly different size than the one i tried at second look. From past threads, it looks like you want to skew larger so you can stuff your pockets with stuff
Weird how girls only have one style
2-3 sizes off haha. SOM said they’d override whatever you put in the form if you were already sized on second look dayHow different is the sizing from that chart compared to what you tried on?
Also I checked medline to see if they have a better size chart on their website (they don’t) and it looks like those are long white coats. Is that what you guys tried on or did you try on the student length ones? That may explain a size discrepancy.
Those of us who got in last week were told we have till May 31st to CTE. My guess is they’ll wait till tomorrow to see how many people CTE before accepting more people.Does anyone know when people who interviewed on May 28 are supposed to hear back?
Congrats but I wonder why they’re still interviewing now. They already have a WL so does that mean they’re not good enough? Or does it mean not many people CTEd to fill the class? Those of us who got in last week were told we have till May 31st to CTE. None of the above. They secured approval to expand their incoming class size pretty recently so they extended their interview season accordingly.Congrats but I wonder why they’re still interviewing now. Oh wow. That’s great. I thought the 110 or so member class was for next year? Even if they got approval for this year, why not just pull from the WL instead of reopening the interview season?None of the above. We tried on the student ones I think but they were pretty long too
Larger lolso 2-3 size smaller or larger?
so you recommend getting a smaller size?Larger lol
Depends. I’ve heard it’s better to go bigger for bigger pockets. If you don’t care about that and want it to fit, then smallerso you recommend getting a smaller size?
Hey! I was just wondering how you/ other students feel about the accelerated curriculum- like do you think it is much harder to keep up with than a non-accelerated curriculum, and if you feel like it's missing anything because all the information is packed into a shorter timeCurrent student procrastinating hard on studying. Hit me with any questions you have
I don't know what a non-accelerated curriculum is like, so can't really attest to it. All I can really say is that I like the fact pre-clinicals are shorter. In the grand scheme of things, everyone says they are not as important as clinical experiences. The pace is pretty mind-boggling, but I here the same thing about other schools. I think the big difference between this and a standard curriculum is the lack of breaks. I think every med student worries about how much they retain, but we take a practice Step at the end of the month which will be a good indicator.Hey! A lot of students are working with faculty on research. They have a really great database set up for contacting researchers within the HM network. The research head recommends only committing to 4 hrs/week and splitting up work with other students. In all honesty, I have been hesitant to start because of time but should be starting something this month. Studying is what it is, but HD and preceptorship have been the time consuming aspects that have pushed off doing research for me.Would working on projects with faculty or bench research the first year take too much time away from studying?

Do we need titers for immunizations?Current student procrastinating hard on studying. Hit me with any questions you have
We have only done one so far. The first is supposed to be in a primary care setting, but a few people (including mine) were with specialists. I had an incredible experience. I could not have asked for a better preceptor, the patients/cases were super cool, and I felt like I both learned a lot while also making a difference by speaking to patients. It is basically practice for clerkships. I would collect patient histories, do physicals, and present to my preceptor. I am aware of other students that haven't had as great of experiences and spent a lot of time more watching rather than doing, but the admin really tries to avoid that from happening. Can you talk a bit about the preceptorship? Kind of like where you go, do you get to pick a speciality, and what it is you do during it?
The school gives you immun info, and you can ask them about the 3 year. Everything I have heard seems like taking step 1 after clinicals is a huge advantage. Shelfs are USMLE style and cover a lot of the same concepts while you are able to solidify the material with clinical practice. You are going to have to relearn most of it during dedicated anyway. If I had to take the Step right now I would be terrified; so much is learned in medical school that no student can realistically retain what they have been taught during pre-clinicals without dedicated.Do we need titers for immunizations?
Are you worried about taking step 1 post clinical? That’s an extra year you have to keep all that info in your head along with the things for shelf’s
Any info on new residencies and how the internal match is gonna work?
I'm pretty sure it's 90Does anyone know the expected class size for this incoming class?
Hey does anyone know how to see if we’ve received any merit based aid? They said it’d be forthcoming but didn’t say when
