Does anyone want to switch a 12/14-12/15 Duke interview for 1/4-1/5? It would make traveling a lot easier for me haha. I have a dual general surgery/CT interview at Duke fyi

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

A friend of mine is applying to ENT and he showed me this cool Google Sheets document they have to help applicants keep track of interview dates, make swaps, ask questions, and provide information on different programs. I thought we could use something similar given how small and new this type of residency program is and so I made our own document. I've already copied over the interview dates from this thread.

Edit: Since I'm a new member, I can't post the link. Here is the pseudo link: docs google com [slash] spreadsheets [slash] d [slash ] 1VThhkE58d2n2G_8p2s43dxYMfB_kI7qkU9aEJlkdygQ. Maybe someone who has the ability to post links can help me out here.

Hope interview season is going well for all of you!

Couple of quick questions for the applicant pool. I will be applying next year and am currently planning my 4th year schedule. Did anyone receive interviews at their away rotations? Also curious on the opinion of away rotations in general. Were they useful? Did you do cardiac, thoracic, a mix? Any specifics on programs you enjoyed (or loathed) would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Hey ! Im a US MS3 currently wanting to apply to these programs! If any of you guys matched and can give me some insight on what step 1 should I have and what other things I may need to be a competitive candidate I’d greatly appreciate it! I have a 246 but little research experience which worries me. Am I anywhere near competitive? Please help!

I'm applying this cycle w/ very similar stats and wondering the same thing! good luck!!

can anyone provide a bit of transparency regarding the application/interview process?
what away rotations generally offer interviews to those that do rotations there?

anecdotally, mentors at 3 different programs have said they have cut offs at 240 then look at your app. those 3 programs were very solid programs

Your step 1 is what it is. You can't change it. No point in worrying.

With limited research at this point, it will be very difficult to get published before interview invites are sent out, because of the nature of the publication cycle. I'd ask around and see if there's any review article that needs to be finished or a case report to clean up and resubmit somewhere.

Apply broadly.
