On hold as well today. Complete mid July.
No hold, no interview, nothing since August from them. Do I have any shot of interviewing here if they stop interviewing in a month? Didn't realize how much of this process would be total silence from schools. I guess it's a good thing I haven't been axed from everywhere yet, but I would like some word.. going to Mayo would be too amazing.
Hey! What did your generic email say, if you don't mind me asking?
fwiw I was complete here since July and had silence (no hold email) until this week when I was surprised with an interview invite! Still assumed I got rejected until I got the II though just in case so I wouldn't be disappointed haha.
thank you (i love you) and will be assuming the R until I hear from them as well haha.
From last year's thread, it seems that pre-II rejections came last week of November, so I'm also just holding my breath for an invite before then.
I know sending in an app this late doesn’t give me the best of chances, but the deadline is Nov 15. Do y’all think that means tonight or like 11:59 PM tomorrow? I’m tryna grind out these essays lol
Does Mayo accept update letters pre-interview invite? I still haven't been rejected or put on hold
I'm so glad you had such a positive interview experience! Also that's the best way of describing Dr. Fischer! He really is a wonderful person.
I have no data to support that ))))), but I have a feeling that a LOT of schools will send out rejections in the next two weeks .
Yes! Interviewed this past week. It was kind of like a dream, I loved every minute of the interview day. It was apparent from the very beginning the administration wanted to make the day as low stress and as comfortable as possible.
Did you stay near the campus? Wondering about traffic in the morning.
I stayed right next to the hospital, but it didn’t really look like there was that much traffic in the morning compared to most cities
Anyone else complete late July and still not hear back yet?? Just hoping for any communication at this point...
Yeah, complete very early August and nothing.

Does anyone know if the admissions committee is the same for the FL and MN campuses? If so, do the committee members from MN travel to FL to conduct interviews in Jacksonville?
From what I got they're seperate, but after interviewing all 3 admissions offices communicate and assist eachother (FL interview counts for FL, MN, and AZ if you applied to all)
Does anyone know if Mayo is receptive to ITA requests?
I'm also wondering when I should send my LOI. I'm not done interviewing and honestly not sure what my rank list is just yet. I had in my calendar to send them a LOI this week, but...
Wait. Interest comes into play jan/Feb when they're putting together their class. You don't need it in before being ranked or anything so there's really no rush right now
Yeah, I'm not sure why I had it in my calendar for now, presumably because of something the admissions committee had said at my interview but I can't find it in my notes so who knows.
When did you interview? It doesn't hurt to get it in earlier but you want to have a good idea of the other schools you're being considered at and why Mayo stands out, so waiting until after your other interviews can help you write a better letter. Ultimately though it's probably not going to make a difference in the long run. That's why I will be writing mine over Xmas break when I have time
Does anyone know how many, if any, II Mayo has yet to send out? I know their website says they'll send out II until November... and I'm just wondering where my R is at
I interviewed 10/12. Yes, definitely agree with you so I will be waiting several weeks at least!
Lol this is probably admissions blasphemy
I forget who said it but there’s 2 schools you’re never supposed to turn down an acceptance from and Mayo is definetly one of them
The 2nd one is whichever school offers you a full COA scholarship
Wait, why? LOL
I think he is joking

Only half joking lol. Mayo has the best hospital system in the country, was ranked one of the best places to live, and offers a name power like very few others. Along with all that come amazing opportunities in clinical training, research etc. You can train with the best of the best, get LoRs from the top names in the world in virtually every field, the best research opportunities etc
Anyone given a II after hold?
The fact that they basically require you to beg for their attention and remind them that you exist should be enough to tell you how in demand they are lol
Send that LOI!
Haha, thank you for explaining. Would you choose Mayo over, for example, a T5 school? Also, are you an applicant or a student at Mayo?
Yup! If only they would show me some love
Haha not a student. Just a secret admirer and an applicant
Why bother waiting to be rejected from elsewhere? Have you interviewed yet? If you really want to go here then an interest letter is a good bet I think. Usually intent letters are for post II
It's a difficult decision to make for sure... they say in the interview that they want students who want to be there. Specifically at AZ they said send a Letter of Intent if we're your top choice and a Letter of Interest if we're one of your top choices. I don't think they would knock you for saying they are one of your top choices but not THE top choice. It doesn't mean that you're ranking another school ahead of them, it just means Mayo's in a 3-way tie or however you want to think about it.
However, I do remember them saying the admissions committee meets in the first half of January to start "building" the class. I think that your letter would be most useful before that point in time--because that is when they take into account your interest in the school, before the acceptance/waitlist/rejection. I'm willing to bet that a Letter of Interest is considered nearly as strong as a Letter of Intent.
Pre-II rejection email just now

Can they just send my rejection email now so I could stop stressing?
9/25 I want to say

Thank you for sharing. Best of luck with your other applications!!
Has anyone else who interviewed quite a while ago still not received the ranking email? I thought at my interview day they mentioned it should go out within a few weeks, but I interviewed back in mid-October and haven’t heard anything.
I interviewed on the first day of October and still have yet to receive my ranking email lol. I'm not stressing tho, it's not like they forgot about us. I'm planning on sending an update letter at the beginning of January to make sure they know I'm still alive though haha.
Does anyone know if they are still sending out interview invites?
I interviewed around the same time and they sent me two ranking emails on different days so the system may be not working too.
