I feel like the DO application cycle is a little longer, so I don't think it's too late. I plan on submitting mine today or tomorrow.

Apply. You won't know if it's good or not unless you do.
Back in my day, my MCAT was below average for CCOM, and obviously I still got in.

Apply. If your application is good they'll look at it and decide.
I applied late, was complete very late, interviewed late, and got in.

Congrats to those with the II! It seems like last month they all came in one wave pretty quick, so it seems like the rest of us may be waiting another month? Do you two what dates they have available to interview?

TFW: people in the thread get interview invites and you’re just desperately waiting to hear that they’ve even looked at your primary...

Im OOS and have been complete since 8/5. Do they do silent rejections or take longer to interview OOS?

Also OOS and complete on 8/4. I haven't heard of silent rejections from them. My LizzyM is 69, so I feel competitive, but this is a random process it feels. I'm just reminding myself that it's still way early in the process. It's tough just because they only meet once a month I think, but it will be ok! We got this!

I am OOS (Wisconsin) and have been complete since July 13th. I already interviewed at their AZCOM campus and am awaiting that decision. Is this school more IS friendly?

You'd think they would be more excited to find OOS students to pay that 70k...

lol jokes aside it seems like they are running a bit slow this cycle; not sure how this compares to previous cycles.

Do they send out rejections, or is it silent rejections? I'd say not hearing anything is better than a rejection!

TO EVERYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT NOT HEARING BACK,

If you are rejected they will let you know. CCOM does not do silent rejections. Your application will be periodically reviewed and active up until the very last interview date (they only interview for spots in the matriculating class and do not interview for waitlist).

If this is a school you truly want to attend, I highly recommend sending in updates to your application or finding a CCOM graduate and have them write a letter on your behalf.

Hey, anyone on here have any insight to the interview day here?? Mine's coming up on Thursday, and I'd like to know the general stress level of it/what you thought/best way to prepare. I know they only have access to our resume and secondaries.. correct?

It’s a 3-on-1 interview, usually a 4th year, faculty PhD, and a physician. They only have access to your resume and secondaries so majority of their questions come from there. I was asked an ethical question so be prepared for one of those. They really just want to get to know you so they do their best to keep it low stress. Good luck!

I'm considering canceling my interview at AZCOM after an acceptance closer to home, but would still very much like to get an II here at CCOM. Does anyone know if canceling AZCOM would adversely affect my chances of getting an II at CCOM?

No. Two different adcoms reviewing your application.

Do the 2 Adcoms have access to your II/cancelation/acceptance at the other school though?

I don’t even think that’s necessary. There’s no right or wrong answer per say, they just want to hear your thought processes and see how you think on your feet.

It’ll be the least stressful interview you have. Just be yourself and be prepared to answer any questions we may have for you based off your CV. At this point, you’re good enough to get in based off of your application. We’re just gauging whether or not you’d be a good fit for the class and this is your chance to do the same.

    hi there couple questions!:

    1. Is lecture mandatory in year 1 and 2?
    2. are lectures pre-recorded to watch on own?
    3. How many electives/weeks are given to 3rd year rotations?

    thanks!

    1) The only ones mandatory are Anatomy lab, OMM lab and PES lab. Occasionally there will be mandatory OMM lecture and some classes offer extra credit opportunities to those in attendance.
    2) Most lectures are recorded and uploaded within two days to watch, however it isn't always reliable
    3) We get 4wks of elective in 3rd yr

II today, complete July 25. Will probably turn it down since I have another acceptance and though CCOM looks great the cost of attendance scares me.

It's pretty steep. But, for what it's worth, the residency placement and rotation sites are phenomenal. A few people close to me have found resounding success from CCOM.
