This may have been asked already, but I was wondering if there is a traditional interview along with the MMI cycles, or is it just MMI? Thanks!

Also, was there a secondary application for this school? I am forgetting since it was so long ago and it is not letting me open any secondary information on the portal. Thanks again!

Unfortunately, I can't give any specifics as the school requested confidentiality. Try Googling some MMI practice questions, though, that's what I did to prepare and at least that way you'll be familiar with the format. Just relax and enjoy the day! All of the staff do a great job at making you feel welcome. Best of luck!

As alluded to, everyone who interviews signs a NDA. However, knowing what the questions are in advance actually wouldn’t help you much in the first place.

For prep, I would recommend looking up MMI scenarios and being familiar with the format. Practice will help you think on your feet. With any interview it’s good to know your application well and know the answers to common interview questions (tell me a strength/weakness, why medicine, etc.). This kind of prep will help you be ready to handle anything you may be asked.

    Accepted 10/25, OOS.

From my understanding at the interview info, they try to sit down atleast once a month. There was a 2-3 week gap in between this and the last, including Thanksgiving. My educated guess would be atleast one before Christmas. Maybe two if there feeling jolly and the weather doesn’t close the institution. Just hope that the person reviewing your file is present at those meeting. ;)

Does NYMC accept updates? I have an academic and service activity to inform them of. I called admissions and they said to email it, but I don't know if they meant this as in a 'formal update letter' or just within the email body

I have a letter ready to email them. However, I am not sure if that is advisable? Help!

Ahhh I see. When I emailed my update letter, there was an automated message. I don't think they reply to updates/LOI emails. They just add it to your application file for review.
"The Office of Admissions will review your email within 2 to 3 business days. If a response is required, an admissions coordinator will follow up with you via email or phone as quickly as possible." and "All submitted application updates are automatically scanned and placed in an applicant’s file for review by the Committee on Admissions. Due to the large volume of updates we receive, we are unable to send confirmation of receipt of update information."

I sent a letter of update on 11/21/18 and received a response from them on 11/26/18. They spelled my name wrong in the email lol, but it appears that maybe they had more time to reply right after the Thanksgiving holiday? I'm not sure how these things work but just thought I'd chime in. n = 1.

for those accepted, did anyone receive a response after emailing back the acceptance reply form/paying the deposit? Haven’t heard a confirmation or anything so I wanted to make sure they got it.

I didn’t realize there was a deposit, isn’t this abnormal for MD schools? Would you mind saying how much it is and when it is due?

Most every MD school has a $100 refundable deposit (refundable through April 30).

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to send a thank you e-mail following the NYMC interview day? When I've had more traditional one-on-one interviews I've been able to get names and contact information from my interviewers and to send follow-up thank yous to them. The MMI format doesn't lend itself to that. I'm curious what others have done or suggest.

P.S. They did a great job! Absolutely loved NYMC! Its hard to cross your fingers when your hands are folded in prayer!

There’s no need to do that. You’re not supposed to know anything about your interviewers, that’s by design.

What you can do is send an update and include a thank you to them for the interview if you like.

Thanks. That makes sense. By "them" do you mean NYMC Admissions generally at the general admissions e-mail address?
