It helped a lot, thank you so much!
Just finished my interview. Loved the school! Hoping to get in
I feel the same way!
Did admissions happen to mention when the next batch of post-interview decisions will be sent?

Hi all - I am interviewing here on February 4th, 2019. I am flying to LaGuardia on the evening of the 3rd and was wondering if anyone in the same situation wants to split an Uber with me!
Alternatively, if anyone knows a cheaper way to get to Valhalla, I would greatly appreciate it!
Unfortunately no exact date . But just so you know the post interview acceptance rate is very high (60%), so you have a good shot. Keep the faith!
should I send an update before or after my upcoming interview?
If you already have an interview , I think you should send it post interview along with a thank you
thank you, I think I'll do that
this school still sending out IIs? no response since my September app
Yes they are still sending
Anyone coming off that pre-II hold yet, or is that something that happens much later in the cycle?
Does anyone know if they accept pre-ii update letters?
Ya email admissions a PDF with your AMCAS ID

Do you know if they reply with an acknowledgment email? I sent an update via email and never heard back..
I received a confirmation email 3-4 days later

They aren’t always acknowledged but usually you’ll get something back. If it’s been a week or more I’d email again or call just to ensure it was received
I sent one the other day and they said they would respond within 2-3 days and I got an email the next day that it was added to my file
Accepted! interviewed 11/29, LM 70, IS. Was complete 7/28 or something
Accepted!! So pumped! Interviewed 12/6, complete mid July. LM 68 OOS

when did you interview? phone call or email?
Interviewed 12/13. Got an email! So happy!
Hi all, I'm on the waitlist and I was wondering if I should send an email to say that I have new letters of rec that have been added to my AMCAS app? I sent an update letter a few weeks ago so I don't want to send another letter just yet but would an email to alert them about my new LOR do any good for my app?
Accepted!I couldn't be more thrilled! Interviewed 12/4 LM 68 OOS resident but live/work in NYC.
Accepted!! Cried this morning. This is my 2nd re-application and 3rd "gap year." Totally psyched that I'm finally in, and to a wonderful school none the less! Interviewed second week of December. I loved this school and could honestly see myself becoming friends with everyone I interviewed with. Good luck to everyone else!!
I sent in an update letter pre-interview that gave an updated description of my activities and explained that I had a new rec letter to match. I don't think it would hurt, although I do know that amcas letters are added to their portal right away -- it's possible they already saw it. Keep your head up! This school's waitlist historically has a lot of movement.
I received an e-mail from admissions last week asking for another letter of support for my application before Jan 31st. They said we will proceed with your application assuming we receive that document. Has this happened to anyone else? and do you think its a good sign
I feel like the best way to find out would be by calling them and asking directly. Definitely won’t hurt to ask and it would show continued interest.
Wow I’m so proud of you for reapplying and not giving up. You definitely deserved the acceptance (as did everyone else) and I’m really happy for you!! See you in class in August
Interviewed Nov 12
Good luck to everyone still waiting on hearing back!
Hi all! Congratulations to those accepted!
It seems like it may be time to update this thread with a cut/paste of my Waitlist FAQ.
Disclaimer: I’m just a random nobody who posts on SDN to pay it forward after all the help I got here when applying. I’m not the official word on anything nor do I have any knowledge of or say in anything that’s not readily available to anyone browsing this website/the school page.
Without further ado:
Here’s some general info to help answer some of the common waitlist questions: (What to they call these? Questions asked often? Frequently queried items? I can’t remember.)
Q: How many people come off the waitlist?
A: MSAR says ~75 people, it’s a good amount.
Q: When will the waitlist start to move?
A: Movement is likely to start anywhere from 4/30-5/14 based on the AAMC traffic rules and historical trends. Two years ago they didn’t move on traffic day itself, but a few days later. Last year it was a couple weeks later. I think of it like a baby...the due date is a suggestion and there’s not much you can do to make it come any faster.
Q: What happens when movement starts?
A: It generally starts moving briskly at first, then in small batches through mid-June. It will steadily taper down, but can move anywhere up to the first day of class. (Based on past years threads, which I have browsed thoroughly)
Q: What do I do between now and then?
Q: But Rush, you don’t understand, I’m pulling my hair out over here. What can I do?
A: I do understand, really I do. My hair is still growing back from my own application cycle/waitlist.
Q: Fine, but what about updates?
A: Updates were welcome during my cycle and previous, and I believe they’re still encouraged as a part of the waitlist notification email. In my opinion, a good update is a brief, concise summary of your activities since you submitted your primary application, with special attention paid to things that make you a more competitive applicant than you were last year. It is NOT a time to beg them to accept you. Address them to the Admissions Committee, as far as I can tell. Send them to the regular mdadmit email, and give them a couple of days to respond before contacting. However, things can go missing so make sure that after 5 days or so you follow up if there’s no acknowledgement. As far as letters of intent: they know you want to come here if you aren’t accepted anywhere else. If you are, it may be worth letting them know.
Q: How do I find out my position on the waitlist?
A: There is no position, because the waitlist is UNRANKED. This means that all applicants on the list can be considered equally, and the list is used to fill and balance the class for any number of traits, experiences, backgrounds, shoe sizes, etc.. It also means that EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE to come off.
I hope this helps make things clear. If more (is it things often questioned?) come up I will answer them and add them to this post!
Good luck all, and stay positive!

Starting to think they forgot about me - I haven’t heard a peep from them yet
When did you interview? Might be worth sending an update of your interest to them
I wish they would stop sending my interview date reminders !! The anxiety it brings me I just can't deal haha
No interview no r and no hold either
Stay in there! If you haven't gotten an R you are still in consideration.
Accepted (Interviewed 12/10)! Genuinely excited, as I felt this is a wonderful school and the people were all so lovely. Congrats to everyone else accepted as well and best wishes to those still waiting to hear back!
I have my interview coming up here in the next couple weeks which I'm so excited about! I'm doing the student overnight host programme too, which will be pretty cool. Anyone who's already interviewed here, what's the actual interview day like e.g. the breakfast and panel discussion?
Both the breakfast and panel discussion are great! (And great breakfast food too). Very informal. Can't speak on the actual interview due to the confidentiality agreement, but all students and staff were passionate about the school and eager to answer all of my questions. Really impressed me overall and as of now NYMC is a top choice of mine from my interview experience! Best of luck
Has anyone gotten off a hold?
Ouch! On hold
This is what I'm really curious about, too. Haven't seen any indication of that yet.
Do you mind me asking if a hold status is sent via email? Or is it on the portal?
anyone from Boston interviewed here/knows the best way to get from Boston to Valhalla?
Just withdrew an interview here for late Feb, I hope it goes to one of you guys!!
You could take a ~6 hour Greyhound bus ride to White Plains, NY and then Uber 5 miles; or drive 4 hours if you have a car.
No R, no hold, no II.... complete silence since late August
Avoid white plains by all costs...
