what is the thank you note policy? none?
correct, don't send them!
I'd like to bump this question.
They said either on my interview day!
I called and they said to send them whenever. Before acceptances is fine.
Not sure sorry.
yeah they take them
II a week after sending an update!
may I ask what type of update you sent?
I sent a general update with more details about what I'm doing my gap year (and also tying my activities and interests to what I like about Northwestern)
Congrats!! Did you just email them your update?
Yup! [email protected]
When were you complete?
way back in July lol.
Think I went into holistic review in late August though.
So theres hope for us yet.
I might have to send an update about my promotion.

Just entered holistic review today (11/4)! Complete on 9/25.
+2!! Complete 9/4
II this morning - was in holistic review for maybe a month? soooooooooooo excited to visit Feinberg and see Chicago
who did you send the update to? addressed to Dean of Admissions?
congrats! when were you complete?
Very late August!
No just admissions generally
Has anyone who has interviewed heard back yet/have any timeline updates for when we might? Starting to get a little stir crazy here lol
wishing that whole mid November thing would speed up, I just wanna know!!!
Tbh, I wouldn’t have the expectation that you’ll hear back mid-November. Pretty sure a very small percentage hear back in the first wave. After scrolling through last years thread, I saw quite a few people who felt devastated after not hearing back (assuming they were rejected) and then got accepted later in the cycle.
Edit for clarification: hear back = get accepted
Most everyone should hear something back, either deferral or acceptance, but few will be accepted this early
In holistic review for who knows how long... hoping to hear back soon! complete 9/5
II a week after sending an update!
for those who interviewed in september/october, when are we supposed to hear back?
They told us mid-November, so possibly in a few days! Really hoping for this A, loved NU.
Pretty sure they said a very select few would hear back mid November and the rest would be in February.
If we're being specific, they told my date would hear one of two things mid-November: acceptance or deferment to early January or the end of the cycle.
Weird, i dont remember abything about deferral but its been a while so i may be forgetting. I thought if you didnt hear anything in November then it was safe to assume you got deferred.
That may have been what they meant. I did write down “defer” in my notes though. We shall see.
II! Complete 8/6. Been in holistic review for ~3 months. Early-mid December dates available.
I think we should hear if we got deferred
We’re supposed to, I don’t think our options right now are an acceptance or a silent deferral. Considering how quiet things have been here news wise I think they are just moving a little slower than they expected
Did anyone else get a newsletter and freak out? Because I did
Gave me a heart attack!!!
Heart stopped beating for a good second there
They sent that newsletter right around the time we were expecting to hear back too...
ii! OOS LM 76 complete 7/19
For anyone who has interviewed already: did the admissions committee say what their post-II acceptance rate will be this year?
Not from what I remember. It isn't going to be rolling admissions like it was in previous years, though.
What do you mean it’s not rolling this year? I don’t remember that from my interview day
It’s modified non-rolling. They basically have 2 decision dates (November & February) + waitlist movement
Late August. In review 3ish weeks ago.
