Interviewed 10/25 and the waiting is already driving me nuts! Has it typically taken 4-6 weeks to hear like they say?
If you look back a few pages, at my interview they said acceptances/rejections etc won't start until around this time for the interviewees at the beginning of the cycle in September. I interviewed 9/20 and haven't heard back anything. I think this week was the first week last year where anybody heard anything. Unfortunately, OHSU runs a very slow cycle and some people wait months :/ I'm already super anxious and checking the portal every 2 hours haha. Fingers crossed for all of us?

Well at least I’m not alone. Have you given them a call? I don’t want to be annoying but it’s been so long.
Nope and I don't plan to. I remember he said they meet on Thursdays and that we'd hear early Nov. Last year's SDN thread shows people getting notified the first Fri of Nov and thus 2 Fridays ago I kept checking the portal - last Friday I was doing the same.

I feel like I know this in my brain but still somehow think that maybe they're delayed in processing their admissions decisions so I check multiple times a day, enough to where I get annoyed that I have to click the drop down menu for the 2019 cycle even when there aren't other options.

It would be nice to hear back. I'm kinda freaking out.

I'm right there with you.

People mention that they like to put applicants on hold so I guess it's time to buckle down and prepare for several more months of anxiety.
Hey all,

I interviewed sometime in November last year, got placed on hold 4 weeks later, got waitlisted at end of April and then accepted in May. I know it's frustrating to have to wait for a long time but trust the process. I am so grateful for having such wonderful classmates and I think it has to do with OHSU's careful consideration of their applicants. In the meantime, find a hobby, work on improving yourself, and stay busy (either with work, school, or travel). You won't have much time to do so many fun things once you start medical school.

Message me if you have any questions! I'm happy to help.

Thanks! I've been trying to distract myself with work/getting outside but application anxiety finds its way! I do have one question; do you think interviewing early bodes well for chances of getting admitted?

I remember feeling similarly as well. I don't think interviewing early means that you'll have higher likelihood of getting admitted but if anything, at least 8 people out of 20 from my group were accepted and are now my classmates. There may be discrepancies in MMI grading amongst different interview groups, so that's a factor as to how many they accept from each group.

Thanks for your response; I can't say that I was hoping for your to say the opposite but I do like how they seem to be good about choosing classes! Hoping that I fit that bill!

Is OHSU the only school that hasn't given out a single decision to one of its interviewees? It's been 9 weeks! Did they forget to press the button? lol
This has been 9 weeks of buildup before the ever-so-famous hold they like to put on people, then we get to wait another 4 months.

Just in case y’all were curious- just called admissions (who are super nice actually! Always had very pleasant experiences with them to date) and they said NO ONE knows about decisions yet.
Thanks for the update, I was contemplating calling today and decided to wait because I thought for sure the decision would come out by the end of the work day.

Hey ya'll, I interviewed about a month ago. Just got accepted this afternoon. Hopefully that means a batch just went out. I know they accept a small percentage of the class early, and waitlist a lot more to accept later on.

Best of luck!

For those that care, median stats, very non-traditional.
Congratulations!!!!

What was the medium they used to notify you?

(Am I reading too much into this if I interviewed in September and haven't heard anything?)

Email. In said email they mentioned they might follow up with a phone call.
Congratulations!!

I don't think so. Like many before you have stated, they don't accept many people right off the bat so don't lose hope!

Unverified but apparently those who have been accepted yesterday may be in the upper tier of applicants based on a ranking system... so I guess congrats for those who have gotten in since you are the cream of the crop! Still gotta wait for mediocre (at best) applicants like me...
